on the issue of recognition. It looks like the mood in the US is to pull up stakes so the US doesn’t de facto recognize the Taliban by their meer presence in Kabul should things go the Talibs way.

The connection with Taliban is already established long ago, including Taliban leader visit to Indonesia. No recognition yet.

This is the guy in our Foreign Minister who communicates with Taliban, the head for Asia Pacific and Africa. I will see whether later he will make comments about the situation. As what has become our position in Afghan conflict is peace process should be prioritized to solve it rather than military solution
