Indonesia-Turkey meeting discusses plans for Erdogan's Indonesia visit

Osaka (ANTARA) - The Indonesian and Turkish governments held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, on Saturday, to discuss President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's planned visit to Indonesia in early 2020.
At a meeting, President Erdogan again congratulated Widodo on being re-elected as Indonesia's president for the next five years.
"Thank you, President Erdogan, for your congratulations. All the election processes are now completed," President Jokowi remarked.
President Erdogan was among the first heads of state to have called President Widodo to congratulate him following the announcement of results of the "quick count."
In connection with Erdogan's planned visit to Indonesia, the two leaders requested to initiate preparations for the visit, so that it will result in concrete cooperation that will be mutually beneficial.
In 2028, Indonesia and Turkey will celebrate seven decades of diplomatic relations.
Both presidents also agreed to increase two-folds the volume and value of trade between both nations. The Turkish president offers several opportunities for strategic industrial cooperation.
Turkey has also voiced support for Indonesia's candidacy on the UN Human Rights Council for the 2020-2022 period.
