Neo, I have told you a lot of agreements would be signed on putins visit here are they the official ones,

Here are the pacts and a brief analysis,

India, Russia sign 9 pacts

New Delhi, January 25
India and Russia today signed nine bilateral documents and adopted two more after summit talks here between the visiting President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The following is the list of the bilateral documents signed between the two sides:

1. Joint Statement on the Outcome of the official visit of Mr Putin, signed by Dr Manmohan Singh and Mr Putin.

2. Programme of Cultural Exchanges between the Governments of India and Russia for the years 2007-09.

3. Protocol between the Indian and Russian governments on holding “Year of Russia in India” in the Year 2008 and “Year of India in Russia” in the Year 2009.

4. Memorandum of Intent between the Department of Atomic Energy (India) and Federal Atomic Energy Agency (Russia) on development of cooperation in the construction of additional nuclear power plant units at Kudankulam (Tamil Nadu) site as well as in the construction of Russian design nuclear power plants at new sites in India.

5. Agreement between the governments of India and Russia on the access of the Indian Party to navigation signals of the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System GLONASS for peaceful purposes.

6. Agreement between the governments of India and Russia on access of the Indian Party to a part of the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System GLONASS Radio Frequency Spectrum.

7. Agreement between the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Federal Space Agency on cooperation in the joint satellite project ‘YOUTHSAT’.

8. Protocol between the Central Board of Excise and Customs (India) and the Federal Customs Service (Russia) on exchange of information on the movement of goods and conveyances between India and Russia.

9. Cooperation Agreement between Saraf Agency Private Limited Vneshekonom Bank of Russia and Joint Stock Company Technochim Holding.

Besides, the two sides adopted two more bilateral documents - a joint statement on cooperation in the energy sector and on celebrating 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Russia, starting from April 17, 2007.

4> 1000 MW reactors, with guaranteed LEU supply - this cant get any better.
Nor india nor china posess any technology to build 1000MW reactors themselves, but posess tech to build 300MW reactors.

5> Glonass agreement while it seems India to be worlds only country to have access to 4 GPS systems, lets analyse a bit

1> Glonass is a co-developement indian launchers/russian sat or russian launchers and indian type colaboration.
2> Galilio developement - india is investing in it.

3> India has access to Us Navster civilian use , india is building GAGAN for that, now what is gagan?
Gagan is a satellite which will recieve either GPS/GLonass/Galilio or IRNS signals for Air traffic control in air ports and which is fully compatible with world standards like WASS etc etc.

4> The most secretive IRNS, Indian regional navigation system comprising of 9 satellites will provide coverage to india over india to china to central asia and whole indian ocean.its fully indigenous.
the singals can be used by Gagan as well.

7> Youthsat : will enable indian students to interact with russian counterparts and a brief study of sun and agreement of indian payload abroad russian coronas photon project.

8> Bilateral trade to get $10b by 2010.

9> private-private initiatives between two countries.

It lacks on deal which was signed,

10> Developement of MRTA which has started, with India/HAL developing the Cockpit and front and back side, russia will sdevelope the central fuelsage and wings.
50% stake by both.

11> Titanium manufacturing plant in India : this are part of initiatives to clear indias soviet era debt to russia.
russia has worlds 1/3rd titanium, a manufacturing plant here means will be absorbed well in industries.


Now unofficial but 100% sure,

1> India has invested $2.5 billion in Shakalin 1 for 40% stake , russia has invited india to join Shakalin 3 oilfield project too.

2> Joint exercises.

3> etc etc etc

Unofficial and nothing is clear right now,

1> Developement of 5th gen plane - yes it'll take time but good thing LCA has evolved so much in terms of sensor fusion many of its inside beauties will go to 5th gen.so material science in india is much advanced.

2> Co developement of a 10Tonne class helicopter

i'm afraid both are wrong, Adux iguess u havent read it at all.

Neo the deals doesnt involves ANY bureaucracy.

say youthsat, the deal was signed by ISRO chief and ROSKOSMOS chief.

the nuke reactiors wassigned by DAE chief and kirienko head of russian nuke whatever.

its like that.......

there is going to be business meet with pvt entities of both countries.

work on MRTA has started "neo has seen the video right?"

so there is not much bureaucracy involved here.
