Sir the scams are financial and political. Does India demonstrate any loyalty to Iran, for what Iranians describe with abject futility as a millienia old association, while the latter recoils under sanctions? Does the central government honour past pledges of previous Indian governments vis a vis Kashmir and its people? Indians - so it would seem - lack the prerequisite moral compass to engage on the world stage in a mature and responsible and even honourable fashion.

The call centre fiasco is merely a single symptom of a deeply embedded syndromic malfunction, in which Indians seem to feel compelled to attempt any conspiracy, treachery or fraud (against foreigners and Indians alike) as long as they can get away with it.

I find it quite telling that in one of the article's examples, the parents of the scammer were rather proud of their son for his misguided activities.

Wow, the call center piece of the BPO pie in India, is insignificant now. And the so called call centers that exist, are either captive ( to banks or organizations) or standalone (contracted by companies in the US or EU). To cite an exam of some scam that may have happened years ago, and claim that it's a reflection of the current state of industry here, is not only utterly stupid, but also a futile attempt at propaganda. Perhaps Pakistan should ask Google, Facebook, Twitter et all, why they don't want to comply with your Newfound data protection bill ??

This is just a phase of development. With huge population it's tough to regulate and watch over what individual companies do. I receive a lots of such calls in Canada from Indians and blacks.

Chinese filled the internet and stores with fake stuffs and there is a huge market for that even now. it takes place with blessing of Chinese govt too. But it has to provide a livelihood for all its citizens and it believes such part scamming is one way to go bout it.

Is it not? The Chinese had a fake factory manufacturing bikes of reputed brands and selling it. Remember Nokla? Rip off of Nokia? Even now there are atleast 2-3 "malls" in Chinese cities dedicated to counterfeit products. I have been to one so I know what am talking about.

I am not defending this actions. This is wrong and illegal. I have received lots of calls in Canada. But a govt cannot watch over all its citizens. We aren't a police state. When we hear on it we take actions.

You're missing the bigger picture. All sorts of ameterurish economic, military, political, social, interpersonal and diplomatic behaviours are tolerated in Hindustan by western nations as long as Hindustan keeps its part of the 72 year old deal and keeps Pakistan on the back foot. It's about priorities for western deep states.

People might not agree, but I am convinced that it never was, is or will be about China. Its Pakistan which international establishment want to keep off balance using India. At times like these, its the responsibility of the state of Pakistan to ask questions rather aggressively to western establishment, not in a hope to change their behaviour, but squeezing the space for them to operate. Also narrative building is very important in this day and age.

Good job, Jim Browning. Seen a few of his videos taking these guys out. Unfortunately in many cases, the police let them go and they pop up under a different name and continue on because the victims aren't Indian nationals so there is a legal loophole there. Popular India based vlogger Karl Rock did a collab with Jim where they took down a scam center in Delhi.

It's disgusting but it basically amounts to petty crime, scamming poor old people out of 50 and 100$ at a time. What are the police supposed to do when some digital crooks defrauded 5 - 10k rupees from some old grandma in Oklahoma or wherever.. there's enough serious crime on our streets as is.

Trump won't say anything because the numbers are small and petty criminals that any government, especially a country the size and population on India, would have trouble keeping tabs on.

That's because indian IT specialists, scientists, engineers etc are nowhere near as intelligent, knowledgeable skilled or innovative as those from Europe, the Far East, South America etc. The whole world now knows this and doesn't listen to indian BS and propaganda.

The evidence of India's skill is international chess. In chess, the player is on his own. So you cannot speculate about help from Whites or collaboration with Whites. If you still accuse Indians of taking other's help in preparation, then it is not valid because during chess preparations ALL players work with coaches and use computers. India in spite of its poverty has done quite well and certainly better than most others in the world. Do your research without seeking to just find whatever is wrong with India!

as to scams, sure there are Indian scams, Chinese triad gangs, Mexican cartels, Russian mob, Pakistan groomers ....do they define the respective economies? idiots
