India's government hints at national ban on cow slaughter

1. Beef is not getting banned.
2. A consensus will be needed to ban ONLY the cow slaughter - all states will have to agree and even then the law can be challenged in the court.
3. Many laws are implemented that many states don't agree with. Gujarat can say - we are communal, please don't apply the secular clause to us. But the Constitution is supreme.

Look at the Constitution of India and lament for being born in this country.
Its Purely State to decide................So let Harayana & Maharashtra ban it but not Kerala or NNE states

The Article 48 states its purely upto States to decide...............and no elected government in Kerala will pass such a Law
Improper understanding of the law. It is not upto States to decide, it is a command. The States 'shall endeavour to organise agriculture and animal husbandry on modern and scientific lines and shall, in particular, take steps for preserving and improving the breeds, and prohibiting the slaughter, of cows and calves and other milch and draught cattle'

If its state policy.................then how can a law at national help................What about states like Kerala,NE and Goa

The state here refers to the Indian state. It is a directive principle, just like the one on the uniform civil code. The point is that such a law is allowed under the constitution though under a non-religious reason. The states should challenge any national law, if made, in the supreme court.

India should ban the beef as it hurts the religious sentiments of the majority Hindu.
But it doesn't Hurt the Religious sentiments of Kerala Hindus.................So why should those states like NE where Christians and Kerala impose a ban

It will be implemented NOT per the religious preference of anyone. No religious reasons. Such is the directive.

A beef ban should unite all the Indian states, rightful step towards Akhand Bharat...

The government should be fair to deal with things, not blindly to please the One group

Yes the problem lies not with the government

But in fact with the majority hindu populace which blindly supports such atrocities on their fellow countrymen to protect their 'hindutva' agenda.

They are re writing history, saffronising education, covering minorities, recklessly vandalizing minority institutions, demonizing stalwarts like mother terresa and glorifying saffron terrorist leaders like godse. Still people support them :undecided:

Like i said the country is going bonkers even God can't help us now it seems :(

If State means Indian State............Then why a special law is being planned now.............Let people of Kerala & NE decide what they have to eat.........May be a Referendum in those states on Cow Slaughter Ban.............
