India's First Mono-Rail Service All Set to be Launched

What is with this massive chinese inferiority complex that they have to drag in china every-time India is mentioned ?

Mumbai will now have 6 different methods of public transport,

1. Mono Rail
2. Metro Rail
3. Local train
4. Public buses (A/C and non A/c)
5. Taxi service
6. Auto service

Is there any other city in the world that offers such diversity of public transport ?

Other than the Auto service, there are many cities in the world that offer those services.

Please name those cities who offer Local Train, Metro Rail and Mono Rail together.

Name other cities that offer 6 different means of public transport. Names please if you dare.

Mono-rail is not suitable for a city as populous as Mumbai。

It would be in parallel to convectional railway (Mumbai local), and convectional metro. There is also ferry and bus service. At areas where it is not possible to lay down convectional metro, monorail is proposed.

Good catch, so including the ferry there are 7 means of public transport in Mumbai. Amazing.

Sydney has Suburban(Local Train), Metro service, Tram(Light Rail), Monorail, Ferry, Buses, Taxis. Melbourne has suburban, metro rail, light rail(tram), ferry, buses. Two examples from Australia. There are many more, google it.

And in this cities, people are not so dependent on public transport as much as Mumbai - limited people having own vehicles and crowded streets.

I think it's time to concentrate on the deplorable state of roads in Mumbai and improve the road transport system instead of grandiose hi fi projects like the mono rail etc that can carry less than 1% of the commuting public! This is what I mean.....It sucks!

We've got our priorities all mixed up.

one day indian, always loser.

In Shanghai, you can catch a mid night flight from the HongQiao International Airport and land yourself in the Pudong International Airport. You can probably argue that such flights are only available at night, not during business hours, but it does exist and it is available to the public.

ever heard of Maglev Train? how many km your loser nation has in operation?

ever heard of high speed rail? how many km your loser nation has in operation?

A public bicycle system is a good way to increase public transport options in India.

Its cheap, its very healthy and it will force the govt. of the day to provide essential foot path and bicycle pathways to the average citizens.

BTW how do the ensure that the public bicycle do not get stolen in SF ???

Cycle to Work Once a Month: Narendra Modi | India | www.indiatimes.com
"At least one day a month can be a 'cycle day'. People should use cycles to work and other places rather than (use) cars," Modi told Vibrant Gujarat's National Summit on Inclusive Urban Development.

"This is not a new concept. Denmark has been encouraging its citizens to use cycles often by providing tax incentives," Modi said.

"For this, proper urban infrastructure for the safety and usage of cycles needs to be developed. This will result in fuel savings."
