I think India is positioning itself to be a nominal US ally. Obviously, it is in India's interest to constrain or contain China. Although I think India will eventually fall back to pragmatism and not let it go too far. India still has more to gain with building trade ties with China than it does with a very hostile policy.

I think laws against predatory acquisition by Chinese firms are definitely justified and reasonable.

If the tables were turned, China would absolutely not allow its critical assets and firms to be purchased by a foreign power, let alone a potentially hostile foreign power.

I don't think India can replicate China's pace of industrialization and the US knows this, therefore India is not as big of a concern. Containing China has reached a hysterical fever.

I do think India will continue growing and developing at its own pace and will eventually become the world's No. 3 economy in the next 20 years. But it will not replicate China's efficiency or building of national power.
