1. A country with higher foreign is bound to have higher surplus or CAD.....and higher CAD can also be a good thing.....obviously u don't know that.....

Of course it can be a good thing, but with the rising inflation & depreciating Indian rupee, it should increase your exports & make imports more expensive. Hence, bridging the CAD. It's not doing that for Indian though. India's economy (specifically the service sector) is heavily dependent on FDI inflows, & with the decreasing rate of inflows in the country, it is hitting the service sector hard; consequently hitting the Indian economy hard. India's economy is structured in such a way, that India's service sector comprises of 54.7% of the GDP, whereas its industry is only 26.3% of the GDP. In case of China, it makes sense for them to depreciate their currency, as they have a much bigger manufacturing base than India (China's industry contributes 46.9% of its GDP), so they can export their goods more. That isn't the case with India though.

2. Public debt to GDP ratio is almost equal...

But Pakistan's is slightly better.

3. By worst performing currency if u mean that most depreciated currency, then u need to understand it is essentially a short term phenomenon,

Yes, the Indian rupee was the worst performing Asian currency in 2011.

4. About Jobs, I am not sure where did u get that but even its true, it doesn't matter a lot,

Pakistan has consistently created more jobs than India over the years, & I've given you the World Bank report to support my argument.

^^^ both countries have very serious issues they need to to deal with. It is pointless getting into a VS/point-scoring debate.

Let's be honset though, no one is using lexis like "miracle" to describe Pakistan right now, especially not I terms of the economy. On the other hand, India....

I admit both nations have huge problems. Indians are the only ones that are getting wrapped up in their hype unfortunately. The Telegraph quotes the latest 2011 UN report which exposes the reality of India:

Indian poverty levels higher than Pakistan's, says UN report - Telegraph

In absolute terms, 41.6 per cent of India's 1.1 billion people earned less than 78 pence per day compared with 22.6 per cent of Pakistan's 173 million.

The report quotes its 'multi-dimensional poverty index' which includes measures of schooling, child mortality, nutrition, access to electricity, toilets, drinking water, and hygienic living conditions, and reveals India is poorer.

It found 53.7 per cent of Indians suffering from this broader kind of poverty, compared with 49 per cent of Pakistanis.

More surprisingly, India is ranked below Pakistan and Bangladesh on gender equality which reflects maternal death rates, teenage pregnancies, access to education, and the number of women parliamentarians and in the workplace.

I agree with you that it is futile comparing the situation of both countries, so this is my last post on this vs subject. Cheers.

Love it, amateur economists posting such news with little idea what the news actually means. Most developed countries run significant CADs, it has very little reflection on an economies health/strength.

Are you honestly telling me Pakistan's economy is in a better position than India's?

Thats why those countries gets shaky when talked about replacing US dollar and UK pound as a means of internationational trades. USA/UK will start begging for foreign currency if US dollar and UK pound is substituted. They are using their currency advantage to let their citizen to live on debt and have a comfortable life.

I dont think Indian Rupee had that luxury to start with.
