India's Congo Shame

.
How this is rape?

On her way out, she stumbled upon two other women who too had been whisked into the camp and similarly cheated.

They were cheated not raped. The sex was consensual.

It is rape, she only agreed to have sex with one man, and the other men then gang raped her, even prostitutes can be raped if they don't give consent.

There is no mention of 'rape' let alone 'gang rape'. The prostitute was cheated and had to have sex with 10 men instead of one. They also settled the matter then and there in return for food.

Investigation is underway.

Lol.. Congolese govt has already ordered indian troops to leave congo...

Indian troops have been accused n declared guilty several times in charges like:
Child prostitution
Rape
Smuggling
Prostitution
Child molesting

Dont bring Pakistan into ur rants...Our TROOPS have never been charged with any of these.
Though in 2005---Two policemen serving with UN were charged for hiring prostitutes but after investigation charges allegations were dropped.

You bring this case to court, they'll call it rape. But it's nice to see people are educated about women's right in India.

I would post links which says otherwise, but that would count as derailing.

Indian troops are still very much in Congo ! Although India is gradually withdrawing

here;

India is preparing to withdraw its four remaining Mi-35 attack helicopters from the U.N. mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo early next month, ending years of Indian air superiority in the war-wracked Central African nation, and depriving the U.N. of its most vital military asset as the country heads into a landmark presidential election.

India's decision to scale back its military commitment in Congo comes as France is preparing to introduce a Security Council resolution calling on the U.N. peacekeeping mission there to play a greater role in ensuring the protection of civilians in the months leading up to the election. But the absence of combat helicopters will limit the mission's ability to carry out such responsibilities, and may even force the U.N. to close some of its more remote outposts in eastern Congo, according to human rights activists and U.N. officials.

Quite unfair to single out Indian soldiers here. These problems are not limited to just Indians, soldiers from other countries(yes including Pakistan) have been accused of sexual misconduct in the past. At least India is investigating the allegations.

So please save us the "professionalism and discipline" tripe.

There may well have been isolated incidents, but not to the extent of making it into headlines as such.....
More over, how many times has a host country insisted for the so called peacekeepers to leave their country.?? !!
So kindly save your verbal diarrhoea for some other occasion. :)

Unfortunate. Im sure this is not Indian army policy and is a rogue element that will get investigated and let justice take place. I wish this wouldn't get into a mud throwing competition between Indian and Pakistani army ethics

Not isolated incidents, large scale corruption, gun running and sexual misconduct allegations. Enough hypocrisy for today.
