Two Good news under Modi raj,

1. U.S. overtakes China to once again become India's top goods trade partner;

2. India's trade deficit with China drops to $53 bn, down from $63 bn the prior year.

Countries like Iraq , Syria , Libya are in rebuilding phase , we need to target these countries in exchange for oil , we can immensely increase exports to these countries from food , packaged food to pharma and even automobile

Chinese govt. subsidies their shipping cost which is why chinese manufacturers are able to ship cheap goods to all over the world. Earlier US govt. used to subsidize the other half of the cost. Which basically meant chinese used to ship goods to all over the world for FREE.

Indian govt. needs to do the same, but I am pretty sure they don't even know why chinese goods are so cheap.

Piyush Goyal is now commerce minister , he is quite good , i hope he improves Indias export sector
One of the best way would be to target Indian ocean region countries for exports i.e ASEAN , east coast of Africa and middle east which are have direct sea route from India

Did you see the video ? Its very informative and educative

Piyush Goyal is not good enough to boost our exports to pick up from where china left off. If he was, then he would have already boosted our export by subsidizing our Shipping and Logistics.

China has routed some exports through hong kong. Hk exports have less tariffs applied then mainland china. Loophole as seen being exploited by Indian importers.

Yes there is that too.

But the biggest scam was the chinese govt. giving 50% subsidy to the chinese shipping company when they used to ship things for exports. US used to provide the other 50% subsidy , effectively making chinese shipping free of cost.

Most of the Indian exports to UAE I guess are mostly to Pakistan. And UAE is mostly Western Asia's distribution hub much like Singapore. But India needs to take advantage of Iraq, Indonesia, Malaysia where most imports are oil and palm oil.

I think it is due to large number of Indians there still buying Indian food and groceries. and the usual gems and rag (textile) trade with some pharma products .

India should stop try to reduce imports from China, USA and Europe.

Looks like our imports are Pretty much Oil. From Crude Oil to Palm oil.

We need to find alternatives to both.

IT exports are not included here. They are service exports. If services are also included India's trade with USA exceeds $160 billion.
