Hmm.That's just the hard truth ,I truly wish what you say is true,But sadly I know that is not the case.Ethnic division in Srilanka is deep rooted and its not gonna vanish just like that.Sinhalese hardliners will never tolerate any rise of power from other ethnic minorities,If they did in the past all these bloody conflicts could've been avoided.

I'm not a Sinhalese and I don't know what these deep rooted divisions are.. SL is 1/60 of the size of India yet it has Sinhalese,Tamils,Moors,Malays,Burghers,Chinese,Sindhi's,Gujarati's,Malayalees,Bohras',Parsi's,Jews and Kaffir's(Africans) and a host of others living within it's shores in a multi cultural multi ethnic mix..

Sinhalese Buddhist constitute 75% of the population there that's an overwhelming majority.. If they really are hard line and racist as you claim they are.. Then no other community would have been able to live here and prosper for over centuries.. Please think rationally before you post something and try to be balanced without wholeheartedly embracing one sided propaganda.. Ofcause there will be fringe extreme elements in any plural society.. But that does not make a whole community racist??

The civil conflict is not just black and white, Good and bad or Sinhala vs Tamil as some claim.. It aint that simple It's complex with a host of other reasons.. Within the island and out
