So Indian army tried shooting down the helicopter by throwing stones at it.

Indians soldiers were probably too drunk to do anything.

@Signalian why our troops on the ground did not just fire back?

Depends upon physical position of own troops and also of enemy troops who were firing. such matters can also be solved by dialogue, not firing. If own troops start firing and chopper is already circling, may look like a planned Ops.

An indian chopper landed in Pakistan base, it could have been fired upon also before landing, but matter was investigated and dissolved.

Look how low and for how long it was flying in the Indian territory , you can hear gunfire but still Indians couldn't shoot it down.

The helicopter came about 200-250 metres close to LoC but not on Indian side. The rule is that 1km buffer zone has to be maintained and communication is needed if any exemptions are to be made.

However, India still will not shoot it down unless it threateningly comes inside LoC, like coming 500m inside loC. The gun fire is just nominal way of warning with loud noise. Firing was in the air, not at helicopter
