Based on the latest info,

Amritsar is connected to pretty much every major INdian city via a nice bus service.

Once in Amritsar, one can take a bus or taxi to the border

Then followed by another taxi, bus ride to central Lahore.

Yr Muslim?

U know urdu pretty good.

Umair-ji, not a Muslim but a Hindu, who has studied and grown up with various people of various religions around. On a note of 'personal' revelation :-

my first school years of kindergarten level - 80% were Sikh students
primary through half of secondary years - studied in a Missionary school with both Christians, Hindus, Muslims and a few Buddhists / Jains
Senior secondary - mostly with Sikhs and Pakistanis (don't ask me location of my S.Sec. years)
University - Chinese students of all faiths and (non-faiths)

Urdu knowledge - still rustic but I find it rich in same context as the richness of Sanskrit or Pure Hindi (of Varanasi). Being an Indian, we all grew up hearing Urdu words/phrases through Ghazals, Hindi film songs, general sher-o-shaayari and general entertainment.

I have yet to master the intricacies of Urdu pronunciation. The Q from K, the G from Gha, Fa from Pha, etc etc etc..

And by the way, as a classical singer with a range of genres that I like, my two classical singing teachers - one is from Meerut, a Muslim and another, a Hindu from Tamil Nadu. My favorite Ghazal singers is the one and ONLY ... Ghulam Ali sahab ! What a modest person he was.. and what LOVE for music !

Take care of yourself. Don't visit Karachi,Baluchistan,FATA,Peshawar. Book a 10*10 room in Lahore and enjoy your stay in Punjab. Hope Punjab Taliban does not catch you :P

KPK should be ok and so should be Peshawar.

Islamabad is boring! Its like Canberra but worse. Karachi is the best in Pakistan, and then Lahore!
Oh really? tell that to yr Indian Envoy and Diplomats in Islamabad......They roam here freely in their Marutis:rofl: and i have heard from my sources in Armed Forces that they extend their stay here even up to 4 years.just to be here....... Even one of yr embassy Truck has a Molvi Pathan Driver. Yr embassy mostly hair pathans for local staff.........Even though u call us terrorists and make fun of our pathans still u seem to have a thing for the brave, charming pathan people.

Calm down mate, it was just a personal opinion! And diplomats stay in Islamabad cause thats where all diplomats are supposed to stay. All the diplomats have to stay in Canberra too, instead of Sydney or Melbourne, doesn't make Canberra any less boring!

I don't see the point of the rest o your rant:cheesy:. And stop tryna flash your "connections" on an internet forum, you are not going to impress anyone, and it reflects badly on your professionalism.

dear imran bhai,
i love to visit place ,which is more important from archaeological and ancient historical point of view ,

one year back i got opportunity visit Pakistan for official tour , i was suppose to visit one industries in Karachi, but my immediate boss said it is very dangerous ,he is regularly visiting Pakistan ones in year ,
he said he never went out side hotel , also keep gun man body guard, he feel scare in Karachi , but he also said , inside factory people are very good and welcoming ,but on street it is dangerous

so after his advise i drop my plan ,
but still in my mind want to visit harappa mohenjo daro and taxila ?

another problem is ,i have many tattoo of Ganesha in my arm(that can be cover) but having om and swastika in neck , people can recognized easily that i am Hindu ,

in Bangladesh i have good experience,i use to visit freely even in interior , even people recognize that i am from India and Hindu, never face any attack or bad incident ,i was perfectly comfortable in Bangladesh
