Indian surgical strikes: PAF strategy prevented India

They did not cross because a kind human being named vajpayee asked them not to.otherwise the military was more than willing to cross.

 and we would have presented them flowers right

:agree::agree: yeh thats why I said Indian junata is more imaginative than Indian sarkar atleast Indian sarkar stopped at number 42 unlike your Indian member who claimed there are 45 camps

lolzz height of imagination

Tell me one thing .Do u admit that there r terror camps in Pakistan??

What exactly is this 'cold start doctrine' that you all speak of?

Really? And how many air assets can PAF bring to the table if and when
1. there would be 8 - 9 strike units thrusting into Pakistan along the IB in addition to a massive sea assault, all covered by IAF assets.
2. oh, remember, no one, not even the IA commanders would know where to strike, only the higher ups would know and such information would be given to strike corps commanders only a few hours before the strike.
3. With your given economic condition, CAPs are very difficult, let alone taking on an advanced airforce of an economically strong country.
4. IA has also developed/is developing contingency plans in case China decides to throw in the towel and join the games on Pakistan's behalf.

I didnt know that Block-52 are the most advanced F-16s out there. He does know his aircraft now, does he not? Damn those sniveling Americans, having the gall to try to sell us block-60/70 F-16IN with AESA radars as the most advanced falcons!

And what exactly are its uses in an air-air combat, except for 'electronic paperwork' for record maintenance? Really a big deal?

Oh yes! Excellent!:woot:

What exactly are those Indian designs, care to elaborate?
India got the dough, India will spend on toys. Clear message is - stop meddling or else we use our toys.
If you got own drones, why ask for US made drones? Like they would give you all that sophisticated tech!

What? He doesnt even know who is using his own country's military assets?
Ignorance? Should we be surprised or amused? And the media just lapped it up? No one pulled him up for that 'ignorance'?

Nice, just in case - target practice boys!

ohh gubbi gubbi gubbi!! you are also gone over the topi here haven't you!

FIRSTLY ALL INDIANS NEED TO DECIDE IS PAKISTAN A THREAT OR NOT?

1) If we are then your stand on not arming pakistan is justified & hence you should refrain from using terms like "mighty india can out class pakistan in a military scenario where no one would know where to strike only the high ups, we will blow up camps do surgical strikes :blah::blah:"

2) If Pakistan is seriously not a threat to "great mighty rising shining india" then stop crying let us arm ourselves to the theeth after all our economy is fragile we can't maintain CAPs even! right??? & we won't be able to do anything while you systematically take out suspected camps (hope you see my sarcasim)!!

make up your minds are we a threat or not!

 and we would have presented them flowers right

I don 't know abt India but it appears that the Pakistani establishment thought they would receive red carpet treatment for sending insurgents into Kargil.

Mate, dont take my post out of context and start spewing forth your wisdom.

My post was in reply to the OP's article about your Air Chief's comments about "hegemonic Indian designs" - whatever that means!! What exactly are those, eh?

And btw, many members here talk about cold-start as if it were a mere child's play. Can anyone explain in layman's terms what they understand about this CSD and how anyone can counter it given the present assets at your disposal? If Pakistani forces were to employ this doctrine given India's assets, how would you do it? And how would you expect India to respond? Many here have no idea about CSD, whatsoever, and they talk all about it!! Wow.

Anyhow, what has CSD got to do with surgical strikes? Totally unrelated ideas!!

Oh, and what kind of air force chief doesn't know who is using one of his own country's airbase (Shamsi air base)? No one pulls him up for that? Geez! And many learned members make a mockery of Gen Kapoor for stating the obvious!!

As to Pakistanis being our enemy, NO! Pakistanis are NOT the enemy, neither is your democratically elected govt. But your armed forces i.e. the Army and The Establishment (which are power centers in themselves ) coupled with "non-state" actors are. These entities do not speak for the Pakistani people and that is the conundrum what I believe the GoI has to deal with.

If India does decide to carry out surgical strikes, there is little chance conflict will remain limited to surgical strikes only. No doubt Pakistan will choose to retaliate in good measure. The only question is how much will be the escalation of conflict.

I sometimes wonder that if India sends some MKIs to target terrorist camps and some do not return although mission requirements may be accomplished, then what is India's gain. After all we do lose assets in the strike. In such a situation will this send out a strong signal to the Pakistan government?

Or perhaps my lack of knowledge in military doctrines precludes me from making sense of this surgical strike option.

I am not an Indian but have visited the country a lot of times.
India trying to destabalize Pakistan ia a theory that exists only in Pakistan .No foreign government has subscribed to the theory.Remember that it was the Pakistani government that allowed the taliban to govern the SWAT valley .only when they were asked to get out the bombings in cities started.

seems like the theory is slowly being accepted by the west and hence India is being made to F off from Afghanistan now!

Also please don't confuse the Taliban in Afghanistan with the Taliban in Pakistan. They are 2 separate entities. Yes GOP struck a peace deal with the Pakistani Taliban in order to get them in some sort of reconciliation, which is precisely what the west is trying to do in Afghanistan as I write! They messed up and lost in the end. Their loss! But this deal exposed the true intentions of TTP which is why the whole nation backs the army now.

Hmmm so U are not indian, Then care to answer my query regarding the NATO supply route? Also, where in India have you been visiting? Ever visited areas controlled by Naxalites and Moaists? If you visit there next time you wouldn't find much difference between Pakistani Taliban and those terrorists! At least we are confronting these maniacs unlike the GOI which is sitting on its arse and beating the drum of ' PAK SPONSORED TERRORISTS'

Lastly .. like I said earliar India just like you can dream about surgical strikes but can not do it! PAF is not sleeping...

In one of the interview Brijesh Mishra was asked the same question...What would you do if some planes don't come back??? He paused(his usual way of answering) and replied "There are other ways of carrying Surgical Strikes"...

IMO sending MKI's out there for strikes on terror camps might be too risky...I am not challenging their potency but MKI's are far more expensive to loose for attacking a terror camp which is going to gain us practically nothing at ground level apart from sending the message across that "India's patience is not unlimited"....Secondly IAF would be bound to retaliate if any MKI got intercepted by PAF and there goes the blame of increasing the theater of war on India....I believe if they choose to go for surgical strikes it would be done by our so called Killer Drones..may be a cruise missile...but they would avoid to use fighter planes for this purpose.....

What india will try to prove to the world is that these attacks are in retaliation to continued terror attacks on India and any further escalation will happen only if Pakistani choose to respond and the theater of war will be decided based on it...and that's why i strongly believe we would avoid using Fighter Aircrafts for this mission.....For example if they intercepted our Cruise Missile or Shot Down our drone their is no compulsion on GOI to up the attack which does not hold true if they bring down our fighter plane...

There is nothing to gain. India already has enough troubles within its borders and so does Pakistan. Our war of words only benefits these terrorists. We should cooperate on all issues including terrorism. There is a lot to gain if we stand together and perhaps everything to lose if we fight. Then why go down that road?

India is evolving as a regional power and enjoys to flex its muscles. However they should not forget that Pakistan may be smaller in size and economy but has the potential to send India back to stone age. And vice versa. If the consequences are this severe then why even think about fighting?!
