LOL, simply because you don'y need a VISA to visit Kashmir, it is not a separate country rather a state in Indian Union. So yes foreigners need to get an Indian VISA to travel across our country.

Moreover if you ask me why foreign Journalists are banned to visit conflict zones, I would say the same reason why Pakistan army has banned or heavily censored the movement of foreign journalists in conflict zones where Operation Zarb-e-azb etc. are happening. To ensure their safety.

LOL, he will say more than above. A person visiting any country on Business VISA should be doing business not Journalism, their is another category of VISA and prior approvals needed for the same.

Edward was having a business visa for India, which is valid upto December 22, 2018.

“In violation of his visa norms, he was indulging in journalistic work and shooting a documentary. "

Police have registered FIR number 87/2017 under section 14 (B) Passport Act against him.

Most probably he will be deported soon after collecting enough fine for the violation I guess.
