Indian soldiers shot dead a Kashmiri kid in Indian occupied Kashmir

But a 7% voter turn out tells a different story.

It is for Lok Sabha bypoll, not for state elections, which saw more than 70% voting. And voting was only in 2 regions of Kashmir valley, one of them Srinagar

Who says that we will not interfere soon Punjab would also wake up with a big bang.
I think that in my lifetime, right now is the worst point in the relations between our two nations.
Never have the people wanted war so badly. Such shame.

.
Without foreign intervention, that is not possible. And there is no one to do that now.

With Modi, India will implode from within. We dont have to do anything.

.
I think it is possible to make Kashmir free, but Pakistan has to stronger enough to attack India first.

I think India will give up after some days if given some heavy loss.
Since 1989,India has lost only 5200 security forces(this includes local J&K police too) despite heavy fighting in in 1990-1996 after Radical jihadis killed and raped innocent Pandits.Meanwhile,30,000 jihadis(many from Chechen,Afghan,Pak punjab,Tajik,Palestine etc) have been killed/captured/surrendered and 30,000 civillians have died too.Indian rule in Kashmir is as strong as before. We have infinite human resources and can hold tiny kashmir valley with 8 million population for eternity.8 million is nothing to 1.35 billion people

In 1990s,we raised Ikhwan local militia from surrendred Jihadis who tortured people to such an extent that militancy almost stopped for 2 decades.Time to raise it again

Poor boy, what was his crime? That he is a Kashmiri?
How can Indians here call their forces professional? Killing an innocent boy like this is shameful inhumane.

.
When subhuman type things celebrate and support their barbaric army and cheers on this forum when they shot dead 13 years old boy just because he is Muslim and Kashmiri we need war to save them from subhuman evils.
Nobody supports killing honestly. We always get caught between conflicting narratives and the point of enlightenment is to empathise with the opposite pole.
ALL armies get accused of human rights violations, all that I am saying is that patience is running thin on both sides of the border. The degree of war-mongering has reached unprecedented heights.

Pure Genocide and ethnic cleansing is taking place in Kashmir. India are acting worst than Nazi in Kashmir.

Do u think people of east and south India would like to bear loss for Kashmir? So pk needs to hit there first may be, and divide unity among Indians on kashmir

After ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri pandit and several massacres like Chattisinghpura massacre,Indians do not feel anything for converted Kashmiris, and Indian govt. and security forces and act with impunity

.....

There are points of friction between people, but on Kashmir issue everyone is united

Nazis installed gas chambers and killed 6 miilion in Poland alone.Total population of Kashmir valley is 8 million. If Indians acted like Nazis, there would be no Kashmiris to free

We need the Ikhwan back!!!

United...that is the thing needs to be tested. But someone has to be capable enough to test that.

This union might not exist if suffers heavy loss who are not stakeholder of Kashmir.

disturbing civilian lives severely and great loss in economy by hitting infrastructures and buildings that would make many people jobless

Create a situation where many civilians flee in fear.......

disturbing civilian lives severely and great loss in economy that would make many people jobless

Create a situation like in Syria where many civilians flee in fear.......

About civillians fleeing in fear, may Kashmiri Hindus fleed in 1990 after Mosques in Srinagar and the 10 districts of the Valley blared at 5 AM that all Hindus have 3 choice-Convert,flee or die.Their houses and property were marked with chalks and they were given 2-3 days to make the choice.
3-4 Lakh Hindus fleed overnight in Army trucks to Jammu and Delhi and this forced the federal forces to intervene, which continues to this date.No since almost whole Kashmir Valley is purely Islamic, there are no people to be held "hostage" and forces have some breathing room.

About Syria like situation, this is where geography comes into play.Kashmir valley is linked to Peaceful Ladakh and Jammu districts to the East and West respectively by very limited number of roads, allowing the Union to contain the situation.I repeat,8 million people cannot overthrow Indian rule.

About economy,Kashmiris suffered massively since they survive on Tourism from India and federal aid. This is why militancy in 1990's slowed down.due to zero tourism people had no money.

The case mentioned in this thread is not the only incident of a child being killed in the recent election-related violence. One member posted earlier in this thread that Indians are fully united when it comes to Kashmir and another person remarked on how none of the Indian members on this forum had taken a position opposing the actions taken by the Indian armed forces.

I was casually browsing this forum (various other topics) until I came to this thread, and had no intention of registering as a member, but now it is my sole purpose in joining this forum to counter the above two assertions, which appear to support each other. Indians are NOT all united on the Kashmir issue, some of us (albeit a small and increasingly unwelcome minority) are appalled and outraged by some of the violence that has been visited on Kashmiris. Stone-throwing is no justification for shooting to kill, regardless of the intensity of the situation or the number of stone-throwers, and even if that flimsy argument held, cases such as the below illustrate how completely innocent people, in this case a child, pay with their lives to 'protect India's sovereignty and integrity'.

(As this is my first post it appears I am not allowed to include a link. Please check the India news page on the BBC website, the article titled "The 12-year-old victim of India's Kashmir problem")

There is a very real human cost to the massive military presence in Kashmir. Not all Indians are willing to accept this price. There really are Indians who want Kashmiris to be able to decide their future. How can a country that lionises the likes of Bhagat Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose justify the killing of children for throwing stones? I will not delve into my personal opinion on the 'solution' to Kashmir's problems, (not forgetting that Jammu and Ladakh also make up parts of the state) but I just had to express this note of dissent. There are Indians that can see much of what our government is doing in Kashmir is wrong. It is alarming how little space such views are given in Indian media, and how hostile the environment turns when someone expresses such a position in this country.
