Indian soldier exposes menial duties through sting operation

Indian Fauji = Jamadar + Gardner many other things for their senior officers....Soldier are soldier must be respected by all since they opted and ready to sacrifice their lives for the Nation and thank God Pakistan forces long back stop using Fauji as batman now civilians N.C are employed to do all these menial jobs.

I hope this social embarrassment of IA ends this BS sahayak system. IAF and IN do not have this colonial tradition.

Govt needs to take care of these lazy @ss army officers.Amid all havoc going on around this is the perfect time...During war there is justification of this system but obviously not gardening or boot polishing.

Army chief has already sent application to govt regarding this..Hope for productive decision..If Navy Air force can abolish it then why not army!
This colonial system needs to be abolished or need an proper amendment urgently..

I don't see problem with this.

RTI reply In 2012 showed there are 1.2 Sahayaks per officer(major or colonel onwards) in Army, which means only 30,000 personnel out of 1.16 million are deployed for such duties at a time.
Also most Sahayaks except the ones serving battalion and brigade commanders etc are from non combat units like ASC, AEC Etc

Only thing is that they should be Paid extra allowance.

Indian Army is already too huge(1,200,255 personnel) so there is no need to further recruit another 30,000 men for just Sahayak roles.

Edit: Updated with proper numbers.

In an article written some 15 years earlier, a well known military historian pointed out shortcomings in the Indian armed forces, some may have been addressed but others as one can see still are very much there. Here are some extracts from the detailed article.

''The army has massive problems, including Indian-designed and manufactured equipment. There are rifles that don't work, flak jackets that are too bulky to wear, ration packs that are deplorable in calorie deficiency and difficulty of cooking, and the Bofors artillery gun that has inadequate backup of spares and ammunition. Units have radios that are short in range, easy to intercept, and too heavy to carry at high altitude. The army's tank mainstay, the T-72, is not being upgraded as it should because so much money is going into the 'Arjun' tank, another brainchild of DRDO, which is an utter failure.

The history of defence procurement in India is scandalous, but it is not only in equipment that Indian forces are unprepared for war.

There is no question about the courage of members of the Indian armed forces, but they are badly-equipped, have no support from government save when political points can be scored, and are not prepared for war, either tactically or in its higher direction. The army is as desperately short of 'teeth arms' officers as the air force is short of pilots. Senior officers seem to devote an inordinate amount of time seeking legal redress for alleged injustices, and there are over 1,000 cases waiting resolution, which is not a sign of a contented defence force--and a discontented defence force is unlikely to be an efficient one. Further, the services have to put up with unworkable equipment and systems foisted upon them by a defence research organisation that is an international joke.
