Surveillance in moderation is a compromise needed when social media abuse and regime changers are running amuck in a country. For example RAW's work is a bit harder in Bangladesh now. They tried to foment communal tension recently but failed (Hasina already warned India directly which she had never done before). Wouldn't happen if we didn't have any surveillance. It is today's version of Ayub Khan ka danda. Danda cannot be everywhere, but surveillance can. One has to be practical, we live in the subcontinent and not the EU. This Nagesh guy broke the law and he got caught because Indians have the right tools.
