'Revising US Grand Strategy towards China' authored by Robert D Blackwill, former US Ambassador to India and Ashley J Tellis, an analyst intimately involved in negotiating the 2008 Indo-US nuclear deal, says the US 'benefits from the presence of a robust democratic power that is willing to and capable of independently balancing Beijing's rising influence in Asia'.

The report, which some analysts term nothing less than an agenda for war with China, calls for the US to 'vigorously support India's 'Act East' policy to strengthen its power projection into South East Asia and East Asia, far beyond India's current sphere of influence from the Gulf of Aden to the Malacca Straits.

The crux of the report prepared for the Council on Foreign Relations, a US think tank, is that China's rise threatens US global dominance and outlines a series of political, diplomatic and military means to reverse it. The report lists several countries with whom the US must accelerate military cooperation, Japan, South Korean, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia and India.

It recommends that the US substantially loosen its restraints on military technology transfer to India and systematically assist India in building maritime capabilities in the Indian Ocean and beyond through substantial technology transfer, develop a global counter-terrorism relationship with India and further incentivize it to sign defense cooperation agreements including the Logistics Support Agreement, the Communications Interoperability and Security Memorandum of Agreement and the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geospatial Cooperation. It advocates India's inclusion into the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and in global non-proliferation regimes.

Indian nuclear arsenal an asset in maintaining Asian power balance: US report : North, News - India Today

If push comes to shove, with proper training and artillery support, Indian forces can capture a lot of tibetan plateau. Ofc they have to safeguard the eastern and northern valleys from falling into chinese hands

US with its decreasing military power and influence badly needed India to counter the powerful china.India should use this opportunity to strengthen its military and acquire technology from usa.

Trust me. The US is not loosing any military power. Its influence has taken a hit with minor players though. From what I have observed, the US trusts India to make any decision based on facts, not based on favoritism, bias or nationalism. This type of judegment is greatly needed in the world and as a responsible power. As China becomes stronger, it will and already has started bullying smaller, weaker nations. India doesn't have to do much, it simply has to do what it has been doing since it gained Independence, lend a voice to those who no weight or power.

We need to stop looking at the US from an old lense. If China can and has been able to let go of distrust, in order to further its relations with the US, then what is stopping India? Are we less capable of statemanship? Is China better than India in this sphere? I do not think so.

Nobody wants a war but what we want and what we get are 2 separate issues. The agreements that the US wants may occur if they agree to loosening up its tech restrictions with India. What we need to realize is the purpose of those agreements? They allow for India and the US to work together better and efficiently in case of any conflict with our enemies. This may never be used, but if so...it will be a great asset to have available.

Russia will not help India if there is a conflict between China and India. Anyone who states otherwise is full of shit because they have no grasp of past historical events. Nor do they see the present events unfolding.

US military power is not decreasing, China's military power is increasing at a faster rate.

Be that it may, India will definitely benefit from a closer military Tech collaboration with the US.

USA is not going to lose its strength, They are powerful and will remain because they know how to play THE GAME

This was the same US which criticized and even sanctioned us when we acquired nuclear weapons that too when we are still in the process of increasing our Nuclear Arsenal.

The Americans need you as a counter balance against China. The Americans will sing all the praises in the world for the time being.

These are the same Americans that once praised the likes of OBL and his Mujahideen henchmen as freedom fighters who fought against the former USSR.

US must accelerate military cooperation, Japan, South Korean, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia and India.

LMAO Wow, these Americans must really be terrified. That many?

But we never joined any power block in the past nor we will do in future,Non Alignment is the fulcrum of our foreign policy ..... Sure we have our differences with china but at the Same time they are our largest trading power,so i don't think we will join any grand US alliance against china.

Totally accepted my friend, they want to create conflict between India and China and show it in magnifying glass but Indians and Chinese are smart, they wouldn't go to war but make sure there is healthy competition between them which is good for both the countries.

chinese money comes from the US and it's allies in Europe and not from its two improvished allies - north korea and pakistan - in fact, their two "allies" are liabilities...monetarily the US and Europe can strangulate any country, the chinese are fast workers and prvide a robust boost with their factories to the global economies and to the ultra rich in the west - hence, it's a bitter pill to swallow.

US wants more defence deals ...
India wants UN seat and NSG seat..

Work in progress.

Strong economy, GDP rate of double digits, technology advancements and unsc permanent seat are the things India right now.

It is absolutely illogical to think USA which does billions of dollars of trade with china and also us mncs which helped Chinese growth, is feeling threat ed of china.

Us wants Instability in Asia.

Rubbish. US wants to continue its world domination and for the moment that works for us.
