Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy Admiral Nirmal Verma visited the North Central Naval Area on 30th June 2010. He was received by Commander North Central Naval Command Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe on arrival. Admiral Verma viewed a presentation on the activities of the North Central Naval Command and went to the Thalaimannar Pier on an acquaintance tour.

Thereafter, Admiral Verma proceeded to the Northern Naval Area and was received by Commander Northern Naval Command Rear Admiral Susith Weerasekera. He viewed a presentation on the activities on the Northern Naval Command and inspected the KKS Harbour. He went on a brief sight-seeing tour in the Jaffna Town. Admiral Verma arrived in the sacred city of Anuradhapura and paid his respects to the Sri Maha Bodhiya.

it seems he was not allowed time to sit or take rest. all the time he kept shaking hands, taking guards of honor, visiting picturesque and other SriLankan Navy sites........... but yes there were i think a couple of photos showing him sitting in a conference or something...

anyway, was it only a scheduled formality visit or was there any specific purpose/agenda behind it ???
