Well, we can't distinguish people on the basis of race in pre 1947 era. Then people might raise the question of fitness, in this category only Punjabi and Pushtoon falls. That was the whole point of the Martial race theory! To appease certain 'races', divide and rule and all that jazzz.

These people were going to be used as cannon fodder, so why not call them "Martial Races" to spice up their ego? The Brits were masters at manipulation!

A very good movie that i can recommend is "Days of Glory". It is basically about the discrimination African troops fighting to liberate Nazi France recieved from the French. The climax is how this band of Algerian troops defended a village single handedly yet later on when white troops arrived, the cameramen only made a movie of these white troops marching into the village whilst the algerians were just pushed aside. Eventually these africans realise that they are nothing more than cannon fodder to their white officers.
