ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army on Thursday shot down an Indian quadcopter that violated the country’s airspace in the Sankh sector along the Line of Control (LoC), a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The Indian quadcopter intruded 600 metres inside Pakistan’s territory for surveillance. The Pakistan Army responded to India’s violation and shot down the aircraft.

“Such unwarranted acts by the Indian Army are a clear violation of established norms and existing air agreements between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. It also reflects the Indian Army’s consistent disregard to the ceasefire understanding of 2003,” the military’s media wing said.

Earlier this year, Pakistan summoned a senior diplomat at the Foreign Office to register a strong protest over unabated violations of the 2003 ceasefire agreement by Indian border guards along the heavily-miltarised LoC.

The ceasefire violation resulted in the shahadat [martyrdom] of an innocent civilian man and serious injuries to another innocent civilian lady, the FO Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said.

ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Army, has also said the Indian troops deliberately target civil population with artillery and mortar fire along the defacto border.

They are planning a raid. This is recon.
In the past they have targeted civilians in raids by beheading them and gouging childrens' eyes. One event i remember in 2000s.

Pakistan army has responded well and has reported these events to umnigop but have not made many incidents public.

All actions on the LOC always happen because of a chain of events.

Pakistan army should start arming the civilians with small arms at least and target the hindutvas by the standards of tamerlane at least!

Probably for some outpost. They wouldn't use quadcopters like these for proper recon.

Possible, even the civvie versions have features where you can mark a spot via civvie GPS, which is not nearly as accurate as military grade satellite systems, but still more than enough to peer into your neighbour's yard. It could easily mark an area coordinates for mortars and arty etc.

Some of the more expensive versions of this drone offer features like FLIR cameras and chemical sensors etc too but you pay a huge premium for them so it's mostly of no news to regular folk.
