Indian man Confesses Bombing Samjhota Express

India didn't make religion as a tool of terror in 70s as you are saying..

does it matter which classification of terrorism indian used?

the point is, india did use terrorism as a state tool in the years leading up to 1971; so you wont be able to wash your hands so easily this time

You guys provided Indira an opportunity and she grabbed it from both hands..

i do agree, the political f*ck ups did give some room for the indians to prove how much Pakistan's existence affected them

that witch got what was coming to her....clearly, it was Sikhs and not just Muslims whom didnt hold her in very high regard :)

Now the terror you guys are applying is based on religion and it will definately create many Pandits alike in near future after all Green Terror affected India worst for Last 1000 years in various form..

1000 years? ''green terror''

i'd be more worried about your ''saffron terror'' and the 23+ other colours of ''terror'' in your country.......let us deal with our own problems; worry about fixing your own house

Pakistan seeks update on Samjhauta bombing probe

I think Pakistan has every right to an explanation by India on Samjhauta, given the finger pointing in the immediate aftermath.

The moral of the story: Best not to draw conclusions on terror attack culprits till investigative agencies have conclusive proof

100% agree, and all attacks on innocent civilians have to be prevented by all right thinking people, of whatever religion or nation, there is absolutely no justification.

.
Hindu or Muslim, all kind of extremism deserve only one route...

merciless termination...

If SIMI can be baned based on its terrorism link, so should be the pathetic RSS and their extremist goons should be put behind bars.

I am a non practicing Hindu myself, but my blood boils when I see these moron's pathetic and hate filled speeches. Equally disgusting as L-e-T or other terrrism outfit. They are not yet as dangerous, but even more pathetic as they try to maintain two faces.

Breaking news: India rejects Pakistan's demand for info on Samjhauta - India - DNA

This is ridiculously stupid on the part by India why cant they share info .. after all its citizens of Pakistanis who have died in the incident.. i must admit this is double standards.. loss of human lives due to act of terror by whoever is a terrorist act and India can no longer ask for the same on Mumbai case if they start acting like this...:angry::angry:

Why cant the both parties work with each other on both cases and bring culprits in front of law and give justice to the innocents died on both cases.!!!!

Read the full headline:Government not to share information with Pakistan on Samjhauta probe for now

A day after Pakistan sought an update on the probe into the Samjhauta Express bombing, the government today ruled out sharing of information at this stage saying it was "too premature".

Its pathetic though!

i agree with your first part but to answer your second we need to see how both nation re-acted after these incedents...

after 26/11 Pakistan said they will help india in this matter
after Samjhota Express in which 46 innocent Pakistanies lost thier life india started blaming Pakistan for no reasons and now its proved against.....

so indian media and nation need to think about these things agains, They need to think that Pakistan is not against India if indian start to think on same lines and stop saying everything bad is coming from Pakistan... they need to resolve thier internal issues first and tackle internal exterimist groups of hindu origin ....

Aseemanand helps cops piece puzzle together
TNN, Jan 11, 2011, 03.56am IST

NEW DELHI: Disclosure of Hindu extremists' role in the Samjhauta Express blast is not just limited to the confession of Swami Aseemanand. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been probing the case since July last year, has collected evidence, right from where the bombers stayed in Ambala to who purchased the suitcases used to carry explosives on board the train, which point to their clear roles.

Sources in the agency, which is currently interrogating the Swami, said sleuths had also got details of shelters used by the key operational men — Sunil Joshi, Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalsangra — after carrying out the blasts on Samjhauta Express at Diwana near Panipat in Haryana.

"Aseemanand is being taken to different places to get more details about these shelters. It was found during the probe that a number of businessmen in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan had given the trio shelter after the Samjhauta blast," an official said.

Though the agency has been desperately looking for Dange and Kalsangra to unravel the mystery, their search has become a lot more crucial with Aseemanand's lawyer claiming that the accused had made his confession under duress.

Lt-Col Srikant Purohit, who has been in jail for his role in the 2008 Malegaon blast, also spoke about Joshi and his group and told his interrogators that the Hindu extremist team had full support of over 3,000 members of Abhinav Bharat.

"Most of these members are businessmen spread in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Their roles in providing shelter to Dange and Kalsangra are being thoroughly verified while the agency is desperately looking for the duo," said a source.
Though the confessional statement of Aseemanand — which was recorded by metropolitan magistrate Deepak Dabas here on December 18 last year — did not elaborate on the places visited by the bombers after the blast, it dropped enough hints as to how the entire operation was planned and executed.

The official said, "Had Haryana Police, which probed the incident for over three years, pressed its leads further, they would have certainly reached the Hindu extremists much earlier."

Aseemanand, who — unlike what his lawyer claimed — clearly stated before the magistrate that he was "making the confession voluntarily and without any fear, force, coercion or inducement", said the responsibility to carry out the attack on Samjhauta Express was given to Sunil Joshi (who was reportedly killed by his own men in December 2007) who told him that Dange would arrange for some chemicals to carry out the blast.

"Joshi told me that there must be three groups for carrying out the bomb blast. While one group would look for finance and other logistics, the second group would arrange for materials to make bomb and the third group would plant the bomb," said the Swami in his confession.

He also said that Joshi told him about his involvement in the Samjhauta attack with the help of others including two Muslim boys.

India refuses to share Samjhota Express probe details
Updated at 1550 PST Tuesday, January 11, 2011
NEW DELHI: India has refused to share details of investigation into Samjhota Express bombings with Pakistan on the grounds that the investigation was at the initial stages, Geo News reported on Tuesday.

The statement issued by the Indian Home Department here, asserted that the investigation into the bombing was at initial stages, therefore, it could not be shared with Pakistan.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistani Foreign office had summoned the acting Indian High Commissioner to seek details of investigations into the Samjhota Express bombings on Monday. Attention of the Indian High commissioner was drawn to the recent reports in the media on the probe into the blasts.

Indian official was told the government of Pakistan is awaiting a response from the Indian government at the earliest.

The matter was revived when a Hindu extremist leader, Swami Aseemanand, confessed that he was involved in the India-Pakistan Samjhota Express train bombing in 2007 in which 68 Pakistani nationals were killed.

Hindu Holy Man Aseemanand in Custody Over India Blasts
An Indian court has remanded in custody a Hindu holy man accused of a string of bomb attacks previously thought to be the work of Muslim militants.

Swami Aseemanand allegedly admitted to placing bombs on a train to Pakistan, at a Sufi shrine and at a mosque.

He has also allegedly confessed to carrying out two assaults on the southern Indian town of Malegaon, which has a large Muslim population.

He has been remanded in custody for the four attacks until 27 January.

Headway

Police say that Mr Aseemanand gave them details of his role in the mosque attack in the city of Hyderabad in 2007 in addition to attacks on a graveyard in Malegaon and a Sufi shrine in Ajmer.

Several Muslim men were arrested for those attacks - and some reports said that they had been tortured. Most are still in custody.

Mr Aseemanand was arrested in November after being in hiding for two years, police said.

According to India's Tehelka magazine, which has obtained a copy of his 42-page confession, he told his interrogators that the attacks on Muslim places were in response to attacks by Islamist militants in India.

It quotes him as saying that many of those involved in the bombings were members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) - the right-wing parent organisation of India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party.

The bomb attack on the Samjhauta (Compromise) Express train travelling from India to Pakistan in February 2007 killed 68 people. Many of the passengers who died in the incident were Pakistanis returning home.

The 2008 blast in the town of Malegaon killed seven people and left more than 100 injured. A female Hindu priest, Sadhwi Pragya Singh Thakur, and a serving Indian army officer were among 11 people who were arrested in connection with the attack.

In May 2007, at least 14 people were killed in an explosion during Friday prayers at the Mecca mosque in Hyderabad. It is one of India's biggest mosques, and there was rioting afterwards.

And in October 2007, a bomb attack on a famous Sufi Muslim shrine in the city of Ajmer - in the state of Rajasthan - killed two people.

Anger over leaks

Most of these blasts were initially blamed on local militant groups and several Muslim men were arrested for alleged involvement.

But correspondents say the police were unable to make much headway in their investigations.

Opposition politicians were angered recently after leaked diplomatic cables suggested Rahul Gandhi, widely tipped as a future Indian PM, believed Hindu radicals might pose a greater threat than Islamist militants.

According to Wikileaks, Mr Gandhi told a US envoy last year there was some support among Indian Muslims for militants such as Lashkar-e-Taiba.

But he told ambassador Timothy Roemer the greater threat could come from the growth of radical Hindu groups

EXCELLENT NEWS,IT'S ABOUT TIME.
SOMETIMES I WONDER THAT WHEN IT'S SOMEONE WHO IS NOT MUSLIMS DOES THIS SORT OF THINGS THE WORLD SEEMS TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY.
EVEN WITH THIS GUYS CONFESSION NOTHING WILL HAPPEN ,AS THE PEOPLE WHO DIED WERE MUSLIMS.

Yea right! the world will always look the other way around because the Muslim perpetrators who killed non believers are still roaming around but Hindu terrorists who killed Muslims are already behind the bars.

BTW this guy confessed on the plea of a Muslim boy who was wrongly charged. At least he is not a bigot who thinks his race is Superior so he has the right to kill all Kafffirs at any cost; and not confess.

Something is already happening but not from other side where many Muslim criminals are given shelter and still at large.

Indians do not have appetite for terror sympathizers, a terrorist is terrorist irrespective of his religion.

.
Actually this Aseemananda only said that some person who is already dead has once boasted about doing Samjhauta, but that he (Aseemananda) did not believe him.

So, it is not a confession, but merely hearsay, which may or may not have been coerced.

Anyway, as regards Samjhauta, not only has the UN indicted Arif Qasmani of the LeT, but also the testimony of the wife of Daoud Giliani alias David Headley also points in the same direction.

To summarize, this is nothing but Congress politics, similar to Digvijay Singh giving a speech at the function for launching the ridiculous book "26/11 - An RSS Conspiracy", authored by some lunatic.

Here the tamasha is already starting :

Aseemanand's brother says his letters are fake

New Delhi: Just days after letters allegedly written by Swami Aseemanand, who is in judicial custody in connection with the 2007 Samjhauta Express train blast case, to the presidents of India and Pakistan, emerged his brother has denied receiving any letter. CNN-IBN spoke exclusively to Aseemanand's brother Sukumar who says he did not receive any letter from him.
"I met my brother. We spoke about personal things. But he never gave me any letter," Sukumar said about his meeting with Aseemanand at the Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad.
Even Aseemanand's lawyer Ramchandraji Rao claimed that his client cannot write the kind of English that has been used in the letters.
"Sukumar met Aseemanand in front of me and no exchange of letters of took place," said Rao.
The letters were reportedly written two days after Aseemanand's confessional statements before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The letters reportedly reiterated what he had confessed to the CBI. Through these letters, addressed to presidents of India and Pakistan, Aseemanand had confessed to his involvement in terror strikes and had given details about his change of heart.
Aseemanand recorded his statement before the CBI on December 18, 2010 implicating himself and other Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh functionaries in the Ajmer, Mecca Masjid, Malegaon and Samjhauta Express blasts.
The blast in Samjhauta Express train in Haryana's Panipat district left 68 people dead in February 2007. He was arrested by CBI on November 19, 2010 for his alleged involvement in Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad that left nine people dead.

.
I had a feeling a lot of these bomb blasts in India that were blamed on Muslims were done by Hindutva or members of the Indian security forces.

The whole saga has vomited out since Purohit stuffed his garage full of RDX and got caught.

It appears karkare was right after all.
