This is a tricky subject for all armed forces; women in combat roles. Each have to look at their culture (talking of the armed forces) and assess accordingly. Such decisions imposed by non-professionals (those who haven't served in those particular roles) is a bane for all serving members. It's not as simple as misogynistic attitude. Every uniformed personnel would tell you quite colourful stories about their everyday verbatim that should never be near a lady. I'd say that it's their internal matter and it's up to them to assess things; no one should have a toxic work environment and no one should feel unsafe. However, changes are best done systematically. Just my views.
