Indian Left strongly condemns Zionist regimes's aggression

Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) today strongly condemned the Zionist regime's aggression against Lebanon.

The retaliation in wake of two Israeli soldiers were abducted by the Hizbollah in Lebanon, has been totally disproportionate and reveals Israel's well known penchant for aggression on its neighbouring countries, said a press statement issued by the Politi Bureau of CPI(M) here Friday.

Coming in the wake of the sustained attacks on the Gaza strip, Israel poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the region, the statement said.

While strongly condemning the full-scale attack by air, sea and land on Lebanon, by zionist regime, CPI (M) asked the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, not only deplore the attack on Lebanon but immediately suspend buying arms from Israel.

"International sanctions should be applied on Israel for its brazen violation of international law", CPI(M) demands.

Israeli regime has launched a full-scale attack by air, sea and land on Lebanon. Beirut airport has been bombed, ports have been subjected to naval bombardment and residential areas attacked in which more than 55 civilians have been killed.

MMA demo expresses solidarity with Palestine, Lebanon

LAHORE: The nation expressed rare show of solidarity with the struggling Palestinians by taking part in protest demonstrations held in every nook and corner of Pakistan to condemn Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon.

The protest demonstrations were addressed by local leaders of the six parties’ alliance who blasted the Muslims rulers for their subservient attitude towards America and took strong exception to their mum on the Zionist attack against innocent Palestinians and Lebanon.

In this connection a protest demonstration, led by MMA president and ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad was taken out from Mansoorah after Jumma prayer. Protesters holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-Israeli and America slogans marched on Multan Road outside the JI headquarters when they reached near Multan Chungi, the protest demo converged into large pubic meeting.

Addressing the charged protesters Qazi Hussain Ahmad said Muslims across the world are subject to persecution because of their rulers who in order to hold their unconstitutional rule intact are playing in the hands of mentor of Israel, the United States of America.

He said the Palestinians are alone in their struggle to liberate the first Qibla from Zionist yoke. Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim regime are silent over the Israeli attack but it is the courage of Hizbullah fighters which sent an encouraging message to the Palestinians through capturing Zionist soldiers in a border ambush with Israeli army.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad said self-proclaimed front line ally of the USA General Pervez Musharraf has pitched Pakistan army against our own tribes in North Waziristan Agency and likewise army operation in Balochistan is also aimed at safeguarding the US interest in the region. Mosques, madaris and even change in syllabus are being affected under the US dictates.

The MMA leader said the latest veto of Washington to the resolution tabled by Qatar to condemn the Israeli attack and abduction of Israeli solider speaks the arrogance of Bush administration that they do not care about the world opinion.

Speaking on this occasion JI naib ameer Hafiz Mohammad Idris and Deputy Secretary General Dr. Farid Ahmad Piracha, MNA lauded the steadfastness of Palestinian regime despite all economic odds and Israel attack. The backlash let loose against Hamas regime is basically collective punishment for the Palestinians to vote for the resistance agenda of Hamas.

Dr. Piracha said rulers are inviting wrath of Allah by felicitating the people in terms of scrapping down Hudood laws just to seek the pleasure of America.

Meanwhile, addressing protest demonstration held in connection with the Palestinian solidarity day in Islamabad Deputy Secretary General of MMA Hafiz Hussain Ahmad demanded Israel and America to stop aggression against Islam.

He said Washington is fanning the tense situation in the region to fulfill her own objectives.

The US policies, he said, are dragging the region towards dangerous dimensions. He warned the Pakistani rulers against the US designs and asked them to break the ice and openly condemn the Israeli attack.

Member National Assembly Mian Mohammad Aslam, Ishfaq Touhedi and Maulana Nazir Farooqi also spoke on this occasion.
