'Indian interceptor missile will disturb balance of power'

The matter isn't as complicated as it looks.
The top dog of Indian ABM will be the S-400 which can only track incoming warheads at Mach 15 or below. Above that speed the S-400 radar cannot track any target.
The kill altitude of S-400 for a warhead coming in at Mach 15 or below is 60 kilometre. The interceptor is only fired when the incoming warhead is at 60 Km altitude, so that the missile has enough fuel to do the high speed maneuvering. Also at that altitude the incoming Warhead also starts losing speed due in denser atmosphere and friction.

There option of MIRV or even MREV isn't for Pakistan as it locks up too many precious warheads on one missile and if the one missile fails or gets neutralized along with that a considerable percentage of your nuclear warheads are gone.

Playing around with the REENTRY vehicle Is the way to go.

A shaheen 2 rises to about 350 Kilometres and then barges down towards target, and hits atmosphere at around 90 Kilometre altitude while traveling at Mach 13. Thats two mach numbers inside the limit at which S-400 can start tracking it.After that it starts slowing down as atmospheric friction takes over.At the timfe ofddetonation it may be at Mach. 5
As apogee increases,so does the reentry speed. For example a minuteman 3 missile rises to an altitude of 1300 km and has reentry speed of Mach 48.
If Shaheen 2 is fired at Lofted trajectory, say apogee at 500+ kilometre, then the warhead will have more time to free fall in the vacuum of space and accumulate speed?
From that apogee it will enter atmosphere at speeds higher than Mach 15 and although S-400 radar will detect it,but won't be able to track it until it is at much lower altitude, by which time due to air friction it would have slowed down to a speed at which S-400 can track it and hit it. But by that time it will be too late and not enough time for interceptor missile to reach the target warhead. Or that is the theory.
Shaheen 3 already splashes down at higher Mach numbers than what S-400 can track and has a smaller warhead which has less surface area for air friction and for radar waves to bounce, so it may already be safe.

There is another more complicated way involving MREV, but I am tired of writing this length comment which I am not sure why I bothered to write, so will write about 2D MREV concept later.

As per some posters Pakistan is way ahead in missile technology so i guess Pakistan also has same technology if not above.
Am I right:disagree:

We need substantial investment in directed energy weapons for all degrees of protection. I hope we are about to get some good news in near term.

Yes, what is the name of your Anti-aircraft missile or Surface to air missile?

The Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Monday said that the supersonic interceptor missile recently developed and tested by Indian would disturb the balance of power in the region.

In an interview with the state-run Radio Pakistan, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan is not oblivious to its defence and that it would also continue to upgrade its defensive capabilities.

"Pakistan will definitely acquire advanced technology to improve its defence," said Aziz.

The PM's advisor said India was enjoying the cooperation of the United States as Washington believes a strong India is vital to contain rival China.

But Aziz said that Pakistan would also "raise its voice at the international level against these developments" that will shake up the regional balance.

India test fires supersonic interceptor missile

On Sunday, India successfully test fired its indigenously developed supersonic interceptor missile capable of destroying incoming hostile ballistic missiles from a test range off Odisha coast.

The interceptor missile was tested by engaging a target missile – a naval version of the Indian Prithvi missile – launched from a ship anchored inside the Bay of Bengal fired on a hostile ballistic missile trajectory.

Getting signals from tracking radars, the interceptor Advanced Air Defence (AAD) missile positioned at Abdul Kalam island destroyed the incoming hostile missile in mid-air in an endo-atmospheric altitude.

According to Indian media reports, the interceptor is a 7.5 meter long single-stage solid rocket-propelled guided missile equipped with a navigation system, a hi-tech computer, and an electro mechanical activator.

The interceptor missile had its own mobile launcher secure data-link for interception, independent tracking and homing capabilities, and sophisticated radars, Indian officials were quoted as saying.

What about China? If they having it doesn't disturbe the balance of power in the region, ours won't. In fact it will bring balance of power in the region.

It was tested against a modified version of Prithvi missile live, not in a simulated mode. Please re-check you source of information again or use sources provided by me below.

If you actually read the details of the "successful" test, it was not a live up test and in fact was mostly bull shit. It simply got onto simulated "intercept" trajectory and was declared a "success". Its has not shown

1) Ability to actually engage the target
2) Capabilities of the seeker
3) Capabilities of the RADAR if any.

Yeah, this is a big **yawn**.

mirv's only useful for long flights, when multiple warheads get out of the missile , it won't be effective if the interceptor will get to it before the final phase
That is not entirely true, MIRV separation/ejection can be done (usually) as soon as the boost phase finishes and MIRV-bus aligns itself for optimum re-entry angles of RVs and corrects its trajectory. Soviet SS-20 Saber was the first soviet missile to employ MIRVs (not simple MRVs), and its stated minimum range was 600 km up to a maximum of 5000 km. The notion that the vehicle needs a higher altitude for effective deployment of MIRVs is drawn from the present mature ICBM-class missiles developed by US/Russia/China/France. There is no limitation on effective deployment of MIRVs on missiles of, say, 2000 km range in my opinion.

When In the first Instance is there a balance of power between us we are 5 times bigger than u in all aspects
yet those who believe 1 of u is equal to 5 of us..... Good Luck
