Indian Fighter Jet

Some time back I was talking to my next door neighbour (Malaysian) who is working with Royale Malaysian Air Force, he told me that Malaysian government was considering to by fighter jest from India, so a High Level RMAF visited India few months back at the time of launch of a Indian made fighet jet, here is his experience in his words,

""""""''''''''''''''''There was a huge number of froeign delegates to wittness the exercises of newly launched Indian Fighter Jet.

The first Ject came on run way made a nice flight, when it landed the canopy can not open, the pilot was strand inside for hours untill the whole thing was cut to get the pilot out,

The second Jet went on runway and kept on running and running but can not take off due to some techinacal problem before returning back,

The third and final jets canpoy was checked and it had a nice take off but immidiately after take off it came nose down, polit was burned inside the plane,

After wittnessing the performance the Mlayaisin delegates returned home shaking."""""""""""""""""""""

I would appriciate if some can confirm that weather this story is true or just a joke?

What is the name of fighter jet wich suffered this exercise and what is the status of project now, is it still going on and inducted to IAF?

There is only one jet that has had a canopy mishap, that was in AI o7, when the canopy did not close and the jet could not take off from the runway, it skidded to a halt and damanaged the landing gear. The plane was IJT by ADA.
Nothing else to my knowledge.

Yes, but if they malfunction in the show room no one buys them. Do you think IAF will buy F-22 with such publicity.

yes IAF if given the money and the chance, will buy the F-22 in a heart beat, Heck any country would... Malfunctions happen once in a while but that doesnt mean it aint a great piece of machinery. The F-16 is one of the most accident prone fighter in the world, at the same time it is one of the best too
