Defence secretary commission's Indian coast guard inshore patrol vessel
Union Defence secretary RK Mathur commissioned a 50-meter inshore patrol vessel (IPV) of the Indian coast guard on Saturday in Visakhapatnam. Seventh in a series of eight IPV's designed and built by M/s GRSE, Kolkota, Indian coast guard ship (ICGS) Rajveer is equipped with the most advanced and sophisticated navigational and communication sensors and equipment.
The patrol vessel manned by five officers and 30 men under the command of Commandant Rajiv Ranjan will be based at Visakhapatnam and under the administrative and operational control of the Commander, District Headquarters No. 06 (COMDIS 6), Visakhapatnam. ICGS Rajveer is a 50-metre IPV, designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkota.
