Indian Brahmos missle crashes in Mian Channo

Not only height of Indian incompetence, but i see incompetence of the missile also, first it travelled a hundred KM inside India before realising that OH SHIET Pakistan is on my right and lit the right indicator before taking right turn towards Pakistan.

Just imagine if it had been high tension days and would have been loaded with conventional warhead or even a nuclear one.
Imagine this was right after 27th Feb 2019.

What would have happened?

Given the fact that The horse and ponny show was already performed to justify someone's gigantic existence, an explanation would have sufficed .

@Informed Members;

For the sake of discussion, imagine if the Brahmos was nuclear tipped and what if Pakistan had intercepted it mid air... would the nuke still go off? If the answer is yes then may be there'd be a nuclear explosion mid air or in the upper atmosphere causing a different kind of damage than it would had on the ground.

Your thoughts?

I’m guessing after reading reports from both ends, we can somewhat make a timeline of events?

1. PAF detects launch and tracks the missile coming into Pak.
2. There’s no time to bring it down, as such, or a resource isn’t available. Or due to civilian airliners in general vicinity of the target, it’s not taken down so as to avoid fratricide.
3. Our own tactical response gets ready to counter launch, this I believe is what DG ISPR meant when he mentioned PAF undertook it’s response.
4. Hotline goes live. The other side communicates this is an accident.
5. Missile lands. There’s no loss of life.
6. Pakistan stands down and conveys to the other side to admit fault. And share findings.
7. Folks that be, first get a story out in papers that this was a commercial, Air Force and what not jet. Etc.
8. India does not response further and opts to go quiet.
9. ISPR goes on the offensive. But not all the way? Just enough to keep the pot simmering.
10. India admits launch and commits to an inquiry?

What did I miss?

Question now would be if Gov of Pak would take Indian inquiry at face value? Or actual SOPs to such ‘inadvertent’ launches change from our end??

A lackadaisical response to 2016 fire mission resulted in the other side getting ideas that they put to effect in Balakot. I wonder if we are finding ourselves in a similar position now.

Now that the whole matter has been laid to rest, let me share some thoughts:

1. Hats off to a few members who sent cryptic posts to help people from going into complete meltdown. I had begun to think that this was a targeted strike to take out a terrorist nest or something, but I could not explain the jet engine. I am glad I deleted my post which pinpointed the location & had a brief allusion to what I had begun to suspect. It would have started a useless tangent.

2. I still can not explain everything appropriately or to my own satisfaction. It is a toss up between a probing attack (too many questions) or an actual bungle up (how exactly may that have happened? still too many questions).

3. To be safe, any such thing that happens next MUST be responded to forcefully & based on updated SOPs with clear & unambiguous communication of intent to Indians. We can not take ANY chances & Indians must understand this very very well. They'd better not think of repeating this again if it was a probing attack. They'd better make damn sure that any such tests are done far away from Pakistan or else a repeat would result in much more than a bruised ego.

4. I am thankful to a Twitter friend (@MyHorizonPk) who prodded me to consider it an Indian missile. I had been researching indian missile engines when I learnt of the press conference that established the missile as Brahmos.

5. It was unfortunate to see the extent of chest-thumping that got displayed on this thread. While it is OK to acknowledge hurt emotions, it is never a good idea to decide on a course of action in anger. Some people got exposed as lunatics braying for blood. Idiots.

6. If something comes out of this episode, it should be the almost desperate need for peace, de-escalation, & stability in the region. Who knows what could have happened, or could happen in future if something similar happens. I hope the Indian side realizes the stakes & takes practical steps for long term peace. Indian intelligentsia should step up & wrest the discourse from the extremists.

7. Lastly, looking at the damage done on ground, I fully expect Pakistan to play down the damage to civilians & property. Don't be surprised if stories later emerge of damage to life & property.

The most strange thing in the Press Conference of DG ISPR is that he categorically mention in response to a query that No contact b/w DGMo of both countries was made.

In my opinion this is potentially more dangerous than the crash of actual Brahmos inside Pakistan.

.
ISPR already proved that they tracked it from inside the indian territory so we were not caught off guard. That much is a given. as for the wreckage, there are pics of the doomed brahmos on social media, if the Military wants to hide its capabilities then OBVIOUSLY they will pick up the interceptor wreckage FIRST.

right now, it is boiling down to your insecurity based opinion verses the words of two federal ministers and two well known journalists. Who do you think is more believable.
DG ISPR is more reliable than political persons or analysts. He categorically said that we didn't down it. It fell off itself. It is better to be insecure based on ground realities than to have a false sense of security under the pretext of wishes.

If Brahmos was intercepted by SAM or AAM why would our top brass hide it? There is no reason whatsoever.

We should be thankful to these stupids hindutva extremist , we have now tested the weakness and strength of our newly inducted air defense systems and national ISR , no doubt we are the beneficiaries, hope we had gathered enough radar signatures and data of brhamos , it will help us in future conflicts

Even rogue Indian Army missile which goes "rogue" didn't dare enter Chinese airspace and veered off to Pakistan... very clever ..

There is nothing left in Missile to extract any data..

Are we fucking crazy ? Why are we testing our hypersonic missiles on Pakistan ? Their life equally matters. We should not think of it as our backyard. BTW it has happened with Ghauri also, it failed during testing and fell into Baluchistan :D :P
our so called failed missile fell off in Pakistani territory and your's ends up in Pakistan ... why not in your own country or china? It was deliberate attempt to test Pakistani waters..
