Indian Army man kills Chennai boy for plucking mangoes

Chennai, Jul 3: The 13-year-old boy, who was shot at by some army personnel in Chennai, died at the hospital on Sunday, Jul 3. The boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries on the same day.

Family members of the victim started protesting against the army personnel. The victim entered an army area near Chennai Central Station and was reportedly shot at head.


The army man allegedly fired at the boy without bothering to carry any investigation. The family members of the deceased claimed that he (the victim) had entered the place to pluck mangoes.

It seems that some people, having guns and ammunitions, continues to misuse their power and position.

Two years ago,a boy(teen) was shot dead after he entered into the compound of an army officer after being chased by cops for Drag Racing in Bangalore!
There are fences that are erected to stop such intrusions but they don't obey the freaking rules!If the boy had not entered the restricted zone in the first place,such an incident would not have happened!

earlier in the year General VK Singh suggested there be a investigative service into army affairs to investigate extra judicial killings, human rights abuses, excesses, corruption, etc i think they really need that when stuff like this happens i really can't believe one of our Jawans shot a 13 year old boy for trespassing my respects and condolences go out to the victims family RIP as for the Jawan who shot him he should be arrested and tried immediately make a example out of him that army excesses will not be tolerated

Well if the boy ventured into the Military restricted area, then you cant indict the guy/guard for felony as it's his responsibility to prevent the outsiders from stepping into the military restricted area. Though, if he had been a sensible person he would have inquired first,but apparently he didn't & this is exactly what Pakistan's military did, when they shot a pregnant woman at Kharotabad. People with guns get swept away with the puissance of arms.
