Sorry Imran saab i got it all wrong.Btw i totally agree with you in this matter,we should have sent at least some Mig-29s to intercept this aircraft instead of those Bisons but then again the role of Mig-21 Bison in I.A.F. is that of a point defense interceptor,hence the I.A.F. always use them as the first line of interceptors inside Indian airspace..

Sorry Imran saab i got it all wrong.Btw i totally agree with you in this matter,we should have sent at least some Mig-29s to intercept this aircraft instead of those Bisons but then again the role of Mig-21 Bison in I.A.F. is that of a point defense interceptor,hence the I.A.F. always use them as the first line of interceptors inside Indian airspace..

Mate never ever underestimate MIG-21 Bisons - Their WVR (Within Visual Range) combat capability is still one of the finest comparable to even fifth generation fighters.

Upon entering into an WVR combat envelope the MiG-21 Bisons armed with HMS and deadly NBVR/WVR missiles had the capability of destroying even fifth-generation fighters alike F/A-22 Raptor as assessed by high-profile Fighter Analyst Ben Lambeth of RAND Corporation.

It is noteworthy how USAF's F-16's got screwed in close dog fight with IAF's Bisons (WVR) in Cope India Exercise!

Not the first time.

The Indian military has spent six months investigating 'Chinese spy drones' violating its air space - only to discover they were in fact Jupiter and Venus.

The planets were apparently mistaken for unidentified flying 'drones' after repeated sightings in the skies above eastern Ladakh near the disputed Himalayan border area between India and China.

The military documented 155 air violations of the border - known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC) which India shares with China - by 'unidentified flying objects' between April 2012 and February 2013.

With tensions increasing between the two countries, India feared that China was making nocturnal sorties across the border.

Our military is just making sure that no plane/drone/chopper enters into our airspace, intrude deep into our territory, stay here for 2 hrs, kill whomever they want, successfully accomplish their mission, get out of here with out a scratch. And no...I'm not talking about hollywood fantasy. This really happened somewhere in our neighborhood.
