I don't remember the documentary having disclosed the name. If it did then it was the parents who did. If they are ok with it then why should there be a problem?

Stop talking nonsense. She as arrested for breaking the law, you can't simply choose to only follow the laws you like/agree with.

And what has this got to do with the BJP? The incident the documentary covers occurred during the UPA's tenure and this arrest occurred in UP.

It was a typical Indian beurocracy fcuk up. First they permitted the BBC group to interview the rapist in prison and then they got upset that the rapist was permitted to express himself on camera thus making India look bad. So they banned the documentary. There is no privilege which exists when the media interviews a prisoner. The prison authorities could therefore have had an official present to monitor the interview. This is simply a case of shooting the messenger which is absolutely stupid in my view

It's actually more than that. The BBC agreed they would a) use the documentary for commercial purposes- it was meant to be purely a social project b) they were meant to hand over all unedited film to the GoI BEFORE airing the film.

They failed to comply to either agreement- they have sold the rights to air this film around the world and thus are earning revenue from it and they had aired the film without handing over the unedited film, they even brought foreword the airing date.
