'politics' is the art of doing what is appropriate. This is a ban that no one really gives a $hit about. I don't think even the courts would have minded if the government would have looked the other way.

It was a typical Indian beurocracy fcuk up. First they permitted the BBC group to interview the rapist in prison and then they got upset that the rapist was permitted to express himself on camera thus making India look bad. So they banned the documentary. There is no privilege which exists when the media interviews a prisoner. The prison authorities could therefore have had an official present to monitor the interview. This is simply a case of shooting the messenger which is absolutely stupid in my view
