Two girls from Manipur got a gold and silver in weightlifting.

Another female from manipur got a bronze in judo. And another from Assam got a silver.

There are 4 NE Indians in the medal count. They clearly take sports more seriously than a lot of Indians. Considering their small population, it's an achievement.

As a Delhi wala let me clarify to you this the things happening with NE students is normal every second day someone gets robbed,Murdered,robbed again & sometimes people who are getting robbed or Murdered are NE Indians,no Racial Again whatsoever is there.Yes there are Isolated incidents where there is name calling but those are getting reduced every year & will totally be eliminated with time.

Yup, IMO, the local media along with it's western counterparts indulged in mud slinging to a ridiculous extent. You can see similarities with the Sochi ,Chinese and the Brazil olympics, where all the western media spoke about was the "terrible conditions, corruption etc". Unlike the Chinese and Russian media our media tries it's best to incite self hatred and flies with this sort of shit, and lacks any sort of intelligent self censorship , something which is quite important for free media. They really try to make things look far worse than they really are.

For example when bbc was reporting for the British olympics, the reporter stood outside a slushy mud filled area where it had just rainedwas saying that within 24 hours staff would work hard and it would be transformed. If that had been a report from outside the western world, it wouldve been put as "omg 24 hours to go and look at the state of things!", without any sense of perspective.

They are still using a single youtube stream we need to rely on other streaming websites ), there are no videos uploaded still onto the main youtube page yet....been spoilt by the London olympics
