It's a relative term And depends from person to person

I don't know how you define it
For some a 5trillion$ economy is good enough to be called as an economic superpower
Some won't be satisfied with 50trillion$ also
It's all depends upon the bench marks you set

In terms of PPP India is already the 3rd largest economy
I guess it's good enough for me

But I don't like these terms
I would be more happy when we are counted as a developed nation and we are pretty far from that point

India will never be a superpower in its current state. If Bangladesh and Pakistan reunited with India so their governments could stop wasting their resources and taxes on military and more on growth, I dont see how we cant.

On the bright side, it looks like Modi might be the one to turn the situation around a bit for India. If Pakistan sacks Sharif and solves their insurgency and Bangladesh gets rid of BOTH their leaders (ruling and opposition), their might be a chance of growth and peace for all of us if things dont work out.
