In 1947 A&N had a Muslim population exceeding 90%. That leaving aside the indigenous tribes. Most of them spoke Urdu or Arabic. It was administered by the Gov of Bengal under a Chf Commissioner. As late Sukarno used to say, A&C cannot be Indian. Either it should belong to Indonesia or to Pakistan (now BD).
