India Wants to Be One of the World's Biggest Arms Exporters

India is importing warships. But India does export coastal patrol ships.
China also imports ships.
India's warship imports have become negligible since past years when our shipbuilding industry used to be a joke.

We have been exporting coastal warships for start and now we have sanctioned a deal for exporting corvettes (Indian Corvettes are usually comparable to other frigates in size).
So, obviously step will be up for billion club entry.
And at the pace, India has been building up destroyers and frigates, same will be repeated with frigates too. Coastal ships was just a start.
As for potential, India will always be the superpower of tomorrow.
Whatever sails your ships.

We removed the word "potential" from cases of breaking into world's biggest economies (which was a potential predicted in 90s ), fastest growing, operating largest armed forces etc..
We will remove "potential" from this tag too.

Whatever sails your boats.
You are nothing more than a pathetic troll and shown that in space capabilities thtead.
Please provide details of the country or countries that have contracted to buy the corvettes.
Posted earlier on this thread, if I'm not wrong, more to add:

India is also building two for Mauritius:

India offers Akash surface-to-air missile systems to Vietnam

.

India has offered vietnam a line of credit for $500m and all that is confirmed is the building of OPVs not corvettes. India built a OPV for mauritius at Kolkatta, not a corvette....which to date is the largest navy ship exported by india.

Please provide details of the country or countries that have contracted to buy the corvettes, not OPVs as you stated...unless you don't know the difference.

Well, a lot depends on role for which you use it. Kora isn't that small.

Let's take an example, if we export Kamorta class corvette to Bangladesh today, how will it serve? It in fact competes with frigates & destroyers of many countries.
For example, this "corvette" beats Pakistani F-22P "frigates" in most aspects.

Kamorta class were designed and built as corvettes (for your information Bangladesh don't buy indian defence equipment) so if and when india exports these then you can say that india exports corvettes. None of the ships exported or due for export function as corvettes or designed as corvettes, hence NO corvettes have been exported by india. You are giving false information, the biggest ships exported by india are all OPVs.

The OPVs exported to mauitius are based on the kora hull only, but lack everything else that would be classed as naval.

There is a larger OPV under construction in Goa yard for sri lanka, but it's still a OPV both in function and design. This OPV will be the largest exported naval vessel when delivered....Still it is a OPV not a corvette.

When a country famous for cheap, low quailty stuff can become arms exporter, definitely every country on this earth can if it tries.
I can assure you're not very well informed about what China produces in regards to quality.
You are only delusional if you believe what you posted.
China didn't become the second largest economy if they are only know for inferior quality goods.
To top that, can I ask, name one Indian company which produces something worthwhile, used the world over and competes with the world?
Don't tell me TATA and MAHINDRA. They don't have anything to even come close to what China produces.

Do you know where your country's fighter planes are parked?
You feel like giving them a wash? :D

@eldarlmari, he wants to wash them.

.
That would be interesting .

From being an exporter of Spirituality to an exporter of Weapons

Sounds very interesting

:devil::devil::devil:

. .
so does Afghanistan````
Uganda, Burundi whatever.
Indian Defence budget is near to 3 times of Afghan Economy, enough of bull$hit.:hitwall:
Plus, India has far more realized potential otherwise I would also have no problem in comparing PRC with DRC!:D

I will see your faces in upcoming terms and events, everytime.
Wait for tags.
