India vs China: 2015 Fortune Global 500...

The new Global Fortune 500 list has been announced. China has 98 companies on the list, but India has only 7. However, I'm confident that under Modi's brilliant leadership, India will quickly surpass China to become a superpower by 2020, as predicted by Abdul Kalam-ji!



7 Indian firms among Fortune Global 500 - The Hindu

Seven Indian companies, including Reliance Industries and Tata Motors, are among the world’s 500 largest companies, according to a list compiled by Fortune.

The Indian companies on the 2015 Fortune Global 500 list are Indian Oil ranked 119 on the list, with revenues of about USD 74 billion, Reliance Industries (158) with revenues of USD 62 billion, Tata Motors with revenues of USD 42 billion (254), State Bank of India with revenues of USD 42 billion (260), Bharat Petroleum with revenues of USD 40 billion (280), Hindustan Petroleum with revenues of USD 35 billion (327) and Oil and Natural Gas with revenues of USD 26 billion (449).

China has 98 companies on the list, including Sinopec Group (2), China National Petroleum (4), State Grid (7), ICBC (18), China Construction Bank (29), China Railway Engineering (71) and China Development Bank (87).

Companies are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal year ended on or before March 31, 2015.

Revenue figures include consolidated subsidiaries and reported revenues from discontinued operations, but exclude excise taxes.

to be fare China only had 10 in 2000. so a 15 year gap is more likely, not gonna catch up in 2020 tho..
