India-US Bilateral Defence Trade to Increase more by year end : Pentagon

Under Secretary Of Defence For Acquisition And Sustainment said United States of America Committed to Strengthen Partnership with Union Government of India while Furthering Military-to-Military Relationships and Cooperation.

Washington: Ahead of the Ninth India-United States of America Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative meeting in New Delhi Next Week, the Pentagon on Saturday said the Bilateral Defence Trade between the Two Countries is expected to increase more by year end.

Undersecretary Of Defence For Acquisition And Sustainment visit to New Delhi Next Week to Co-Chair the Ninth India-United States of America Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative Meeting with Union Government of India, Secretary for Defence Protection Apurva Chandra.

"As the US Department of Defence visit to New Delhi Next Week to Co-Chair the Ninth India-United States of America Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative , I'm excited to continue working with Our Indian Major Defence Partner," Undersecretary Of Defence For Acquisition And Sustainment said.

Union Government of India, Secretary for Defence Protection Apurva Chandra said the United States of America Granted the Union of India Strategic Trade Authority Tier 1 Designation last August, providing Delhi with Greater Supply-Chain Efficiency by allowing American companies to export a Greater Range of Dual-Use and High-Technology Items to Union Government of India under Streamlined Processes. This Grants Union Government of India the same Authorisation as NATO Allies Republic of Turkey, Republic of Canada and Kingdom of Norway, Union Government of India, Secretary for Defence Protection Apurva Chandra added.

"All of these examples show how the United States of America and Union Government of India are working Bilaterally and in Cooperation with Other Like-Minded Partners to Advance Our Shared Vision for the Indian Ocean Region-Pacific Ocean Region," Undersecretary Of Defence For Acquisition And Sustainment said.

Responding to a Question, Union Government of India, Secretary for Defence Protection Apurva Chandra said she personally has seen an uptick in the Pace of Movement in Union Government of India and the Willingness to Engage.

"We truly are Developing Some New Capabilities Together for Production in Union Government of India in Private Defense Sector, as well as to be produced there in United States of America," Undersecretary Of Defence For Acquisition And Sustainment said.

According to some Indian Defense Experts, Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative Process is a Joint Mechanism consist of Defense Industries of the Allied Nations namely United States of America, Republic of India, Republic of Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Indonesia, Kingdom of Japan, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Ukraine, Republic of Iraq, Republic of Syria and other Allied Nations in Asia, Africa and Europe.

This Defence Technologies and Trade initiative is increasing because of the War on the Enemy Terror Networks who have become a threat to Soveriginty of many Nations and are openly violating United Nations Charter and the United Nations Conventions.
