What's new

India Today included the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir within Pakistan

I approve of India Today's decision. Why show a territory in your maps where you don't have any actual control? This is just not correct. Having a "symbolic" map does not do you any favors. Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir are a lost cause. India should show the correct picture in its media.

I would like Google to do the right thing now and redraw the Google Maps for all these disputed territories so that the foreigners as well as Indians get the correct picture.

We can wait till 2024 elections for Modi-chee to attack those territories and bring them into India.

p.s. - The last line was sarcasm for those who failed to detect it.

He ain't Gangu if he doesn't do this type of shit.

It reminds me of a jilted lover who still considers his twenty year long crush as his girlfriend. Although she turned him down right then, arranged a RESTRAINING ORDER, and is now married with two kids. :woot::woot:

What's even more interesting is that they are discussing the covid situation in Pakistan....I have not come across a single show on our channels that is discussing India to that depth. Their obsession with us is on steroids.

These kinds of sites are potential targets for Pakistani hackers. I am just putting it out there. :azn:

Pakistani hackers have greatly disappointed me by not taking down BJP-affiliated Twitter accounts. I used to engage with one long ago. He was a Lahore-based freelancer who took down sites for money. Very talented guy. Why isn't someone like him not doing the right job? I for one would love to see these accounts being SWEPT clean.

Twitter isn't all that secure. I know the servers are encrypted but there are many BACKDOORS.

I always though of Pakistan map like a dragon. In my mind the dragon was never complete without all of Kahmir.
I know a bit weird way of rationalizing adult talk.

In a viral video, Congress loyalist Rajdeep Sardesai can be seen hosting his Prime Time show on India Today wherein a distorted map of India is on display. Just 3 seconds into the video, a graphical representation of the Indian map without the Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir), an integral part of India, pops up on the right side of the screen.

Moreover, the map of Pakistan is shown by including the Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This is exactly the same way that the government of Pakistan represents its official map.

In 2016, a new law under the Geospatial Information Regulation Bill was proposed by the Central Government wherein depiction of Indian map without Azad Kashmir or Arunachal Pradesh could lead to 7-year jail term along with a penalty of ₹100 crores. Under 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act, such websites could be blocked by the Government of India.

Telangana Minister fact-checks India Today
India Today has been infamous for propagating distorted facts and misinformation. Earlier, the managing editor of the channel, Rahul Kanwal, had put up an infographic that listed out the number of PPEs available in coronavirus designated hospitals in India’s 12 most affected states. According to Kanwal, Maharashtra had the maximum number of PPEs at 1,22,133. The lowest, according to him, was Telangana with 3,132 PPEs.

Reacting on the same, Telangana minister KTR slammed India Today and Rahul Kanwal for their inaccurate reporting. In a tweet, KTR asked Rahul Kanwal not to publish ‘nonsense and confusing data’ in these troubling times if he did not have accurate details. KT Ramarao asked whether India Today and Rahul Kanwal will apologise if he proved that Telangana had 100 times more PPEs than what the data projected by India Today revealed. “Sorry but this is disgraceful journalism Rajdeep Sardesai,” tweeted the Telangana minister.
