US need not inject itself with opium. As a developed country, US cannot match the economic growth rates of India. With a huge population, India can surpass US aggregate GDP. That is how China became the second largest economy from seventh largest at the beginning of this decade.

Racing past US should not be very hard for India, as Masayoshi said it can be done in next 25 years. But racing past China will not be easy given similar demographics and also the fact that China has head start with respect to India.

India is ahead of America already. That is why the best and brightest Indians are in America looking for servants to back home.
