India to give 3 helicopters to Afghanistan next year

We should give atleast 10 to our brothers in Afghanistan.

Does Afghan air force has any plan of operating Jets?
Afghanistan has for a long time asked the US for F-16 or F-15 Jets.

But the US refused, saying that Afghanistan wasn't yet mature to operate advanced jets (understandable)
So we made a deal for 20 A-29, for CAS operations and training purposes for our future Jet pilots.

NO not yet, the government haven't shared their plans at this matter. (If they have a plan)

The A-29's are will be delivered in end 2014, so we will maybe consider jets around 2017/2018.

exporting cheetahs
not dhruv
i am still wondering that india still using cheetah and cheetak
we retired them from active duties

Are you living in Dreamland?
The PN still flies the Alouette IIIs and the PA still operates both the Alouette IIs and IIIs . The last bunch of 10 of them were gifted to Pakistan by Switzerland in the wake of the floods in Pakistan when Heli-Lift capability in Pakistan was found to be woefully inadeaquate. Around the same time the USA funded the purchase of a batch of Mi-17s to be acquired by Pakistan.
The other Legacy Helos in Pakistan are the Pumas bought from France and later from Romania and the Westaland Lynxes with PN. The Lynxes are lying in storage with PN because PN cannot afford to service them any longer

Great News..we're donating a lot of Dhruv to our neighbours and they're pretty satisfied with it.so,looks like AF is soon going to get a piece of it.

but you guys really need some heavy hitters like Tanks,Arty pieces,Gunships etc.I think India will provide it,but will never accept it openly(just like Mayanmar's case.we provide them weapons, even tanks, but as Aid or denied it completely). :partay:

Old Helis for transportation purposes to serve Karzai and his puppets, nothing important here.

Helis are not important, important is the return on investment with interest. Already reaping the fruits will multiply it. Keeping Pak out of Afghan economy.

Afghan politics will soon be like the girl changes clothes. We will see what is in store.

Hmm, I'm not sold on these being ALHs- yet. AFAIK HAL still produce the Cheetan and Cheetal (upgraded versions of the Cheetak and Cheetah respectively) so it's more than likely these are the products being gifted to the Afghans. I could be wrong of course and they could in fact be ALHs- which would be great, let's just wait and see.

I think that instead of going about this in a piecemeal fashion the GoI should just give clearances across the board to the so-called "wish list" given by Karzai to the GoI. They aren't asking for LCAs and Arjuns but things India is about to phase out or is sat in military surplus yards.
