India to get most lethal and advanced cluster bombs from USA

I've heard this weapon will be integrated on the Jaguar, MKI and Rafale.

Thats what i thought....
@IBRIS, You are a senior member. Don't don't do such crappy stuff.

You should at least read the entire article before jumping to assumptions. My linked article is from 2012 and it states The IAF will also receive 44 training units. I'd reported on the system being in-principle cleared in March this year, with the final clearance coming in November.

512 number of these CBU 105 are enough for destroying whole of pakistani armored capabilties (Tanks+APCs) but we need 2000 for full scale war at 2 fronts at the same time.

One CBU-105 will make a brigade of enemy total flat. :)

No. we need total 5000 CBU-105 as well as Pinaka, Prahaar. Teach the enemy a unforgettable lesson, so that they can never think of looking at India again.

India importing munitions again, well done.

Chinese Military chief said US technology 20 years ahead of Chinese. Chinese tech lags behind Russian, Russian lags behind American. America, west and Russia give India top technology. India trumps china by 20 years in military hardware, Indian software trumps China. quite simple the math.. India kill ratio because the tech advantage 1:4 or 1:6 in some cases. should have removed 1 child policy long ago... now you have old men running around in uniform. :D

Where is discussion on the CBU-105 solely instead of chest beating and poking fun?

Kids!!!!! :)

As stated these are not anti-personnel mines. Specifically designed for armoured units. You can see that from the copper shaped charge in front of the munition. Iran has used something similar (Shaped Charges) though a very crude form as road side bombs to target American Humvees in Iraq to deadly consequences.

I thought Sweden offered something similar for artillery use in the archer artillery they were planning to sell India.

Watch this video to put things in perspective. :)

No- what it tells us that Chinese fan boys IQ's are not as sold. Having cluster bombs and having this specific tech are two different things. Cluster bombs have been in place for decades and decades. That's like saying you make J10, J17 and hence American aircrafts are inferior even if purchased by any country. Stay in Ecuador, the moment you enter china airspace that average IQ will fall by 75 points. ;)

I dont see where he said that the american CBU-105 is inferior to the chinese version.

however what we do know is that chinese has sensor fuzed weapons similar to the american version and being a domestic product china can make hundreds of thousands if it for some reason it really wanted to.
we actually have a thread on this
http://www.defence.pk/forums/chinese-defence/119873-development-sensor-fuzed-weapons.html

if you really wanted to make an analogy then its more like the Americans have the f-16 and now the Chinese has the J-10

What are the specs? You guys were repeatedly asked about that in that link but none stated. My contention stands that India gets way more advanced technology, like this cluster bomb, and seperately btw your j10 compared to a f16 is a far far stretch . I mean really...and it has been been vetted by experts. Ain't gonna rehash pipe dreams here.
