For reverse engineering and benchmarking. Apparently S400 is the best SAM? Su35 is more for the TVCs and benchmarking.

India too has its Netra Platform. 360 degree AWACS is almost ready. Incase of Radars and Missile India is quite Mature now.

The need is very much like the reason why US still Needs RD180s or China need RD33 for jf17s.

We also have 2 indigenous programs. The Phalcon is up and above the indigenous system.

Israel is a Strategic partner of India ,chinese wanted these AWACS because ,they are a class apart ,5 phalcons and 3 netra can fulfill current needs ,the other deal which can be clinched is Haroop and heron armed drones ,other are just in fray spike deal won't get to see light nor would nextar 155 mounted guns ,Bibi and Modi have taken the relationship to new dimension.

Well, I don't mind, they are an independent country, we can't expect them to choose us because we are allies. If they buy western equipment, we can benchmark and learn and improve.

This is what I will call sportsman spirit. Sadly most of us don't have this quality.

I suggest you read your own link, while it is true that India has received more economic aid over all since the last century, pakistan has received more aid per capita than India during the same period of time.

Also NO, India has not received more aid than pakistan from US in the last decade.
Pakistan has recieved from the US some $17 billion since 2001 whereas India $3.3 billion in the same time period. The highest aid in a year India has gotten since the 2000s is some $212 million whereas it is $2.7 billion for pakistan.

yes I saw some new Israili awacs have the radars as the part of the aircraft structure ..... but not sure they will have the same power as dome based ... anyways by anchance what kind of advancement these new AWACS will have over the AWACS procured from Israel before
