India tests Agni Missile

its the second time he has used the same post more than once...he is a big troll..just report his posts and stop replying to his posts.

Soryy for OT, Where are the test sites of Chinese missiles and usual direction. I wonder they still test ICBMs frequently like one of the Chinese poster claimed.

OT:

What are the plans for canisterised road mobile missiles by DRDO ? Do we have any of those inducted ? Some where I read rail mobile are already inducted have been travelling via Rail network to desired places when required packed inside train cars/bogies.

LOL. Dont forget the battle of Chawinda which was a graveyard for Indian tanks.
But lets not go off the topic here.

This threadis about Agni missile test. Keep to it.

I guess Zeus didnt give a jack about you guys in chawinda or khem karan.

Agni 4 looks sleek and without fins, so can be carried in canisters, I hope to see the same with Agni 5.

Agni-IV gives India missile reach of 4,000km
TNN | Sep 20, 2012, 02.48AM IST

HUBANESWAR/BALASORE: India took yet another step in bolstering its nuclear reach on Wednesday by successfully test-firing Agni-IV, a strategic missile with a strike range of around 4000km. The test was conducted at a range on Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast.

Defence sources said the indigenously developed surface-to-surface, nuclear-capable missile was tested with the aid of a mobile launcher from the Integrated Test Range at about 11.35am. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chief V K Saraswat was among the several top officials present.

The missile zeroed in on to the pre-designated target in the Bay of Bengal after a flight of about 20 minutes, sources said.

"The missile reached a height of about 800km as expected. All the systems functioned perfectly till the end encountering the re-entry temperatures of more than 3000 degrees Celsius," Saraswat said.

DRDO sources said radars were installed at Puri, Paradeep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands to monitor the missile's trajectory. A computer with avionic software and high speed reliable communication capability was used to control and guide the missile to the target, sources said.

The missile is lighter in weight than others in the category and has a two-stage solid propulsion system. The payload has a re-entry heat shield, a defence scientist said.

Defence sources said Agni-IV is a modified version of the Agni-II strategic missile and was originally called Agni-II Prime whose first test in December 10 last year failed.

:agree:

definitely,

on a second thought, the bulavas are only 2m dia and 11.6 m height, wt of 36T have a range of 9000 kms... DAMN we have to cover a lot in missile tech still..

Bulava has a controlled trajectory which makes a flatter flight... making the missile fly below the horizon.. making the beyond the horizon LRTR blind.. India has demonstrated such capabilities in Shaurya/K-15 Sagarika missiles.... we have material and capability to make such missile but we need to test our navigation and guidance systems.. BM flying such low are not as accurate.... Agni IV/V/III are infact test bed for such technologies and in future the SLBM of Agni V would have such finer trajectory for long ranges such as 8000-10000km.
