India suppresses Kashmiri Muslims, holds sham elections at gun-point: FO

(Even if we did, we would have more credibility to say something like that, given that all our elections are held at world standards, and satisfies all international observer

elections at every level in J-K are completely free and fair, and they have as much political representation andd participation as any other state

I'm tryna do you a favor by letting you know that the world isn't based on absolutes. Trust me, you don't wana find out the hard way.
You should read the reports by any neutral foreign observer for any of India's elections. There may be no such thing as perfection, but in holding elections, we come very close to that ideal.

The election commission (a politically independent, constitutional body) is held in high esteem by everybody, the politicians, media, and the public. Not even the losing candidates would dare to allege that an election was rigged. All elections are paperless, done through tamper proof, encrypted electronic machines, under the observation of neutral observers.

Why are you so upset and giving clarification about India's stand?

You're not getting it, are you? Elections are overseen by the EC but conducted by the people who work for different institutions and represent the society. Are all those institutions corruption free and held in high esteem? Can you say the same about the Indian police? When a society is not perfect, nothing that it churns out is.

The institutions are formed and filled by the people who are part of the rotten culture - the same culture which promotes bribery, dishonesty, favoritism, nepotism, child marriages, racism, caste system, female infanticide, child labor and abhors the righteous. I can go on but the point isn't to make you feel bad or demean India but to show you that institutions and societies don't thrive in a vacuum. Unless the people as a whole don't change and adhere to a certain set of values, nothing changes.

If I stood ten Indians in a line and asked them what India stood for, they won't have a clue or the same answers and therein lies the problem. If you don't stand for anything, you fall for everything.

These issues aren't exclusive to India btw, a lot of developing countries are plagued by them but only the ones which will accept and address them will progress.
