India stepping up to the challenge of post-2014 Afghanistan

Thank you for wasting our time for reading useless blog nothing even good for India in it. only same usual spice which Indians like.

Bro , Skin is NOT the topic of debate here enither i want to make it so. I mentioned it as a matter of fact owing to the reality in the region relating to claims of this Indian bloger

My post was in reply to him and there is nothing to discuss in BS OP.

I think God has given u special powers where u can see the future perfectly

Firstly, Americans are not leaving completely post-2014, only there combat forces will leave while they will retain many important bases in Afghanistan just like they did in Iraq, so u can be rest assured of drone strikes + till the Americans will operate those bases, they will make sure that Taliban don't come to power in Kabul since that means danger to there own survival in Afghanistan.

Secondly, Not only India but other major powers such as China & Russia are also investing in Afghanistan & they will make sure that Kabul remains in the hands of a democratically elected liberal govt. so it is not the case of pre-9/11 where world did not bothered who was running Afghanistan, now billions are stake of many countries so they will not like to see there investments fall into a black hole.

Thirdly, I am not saying that Taliban is not a power in Afghanistan, yes they are a power to reckon with as far as Afghanistan is concerned, but they will never be able to control whole of Afghanistan, how much of Afghanistan they can get there hands onto is a totally different question.

Fourthly, when Taliban came to power in 1995, the govt. at Kabul was very weak & they didn't have power to fight to them, thus they lost, but things have changed dramatically now, ANA is very strong with 3+ lakh forces & planning to have there own Air force. So if Taliban again tries to grab power in Kabul they have to fight better trained & better equipped soldiers this time around with nearly every country in this world on there side giving every possible help to them while the Taliban have only Pakistan to look upto which itself is beset with many problems.

Not to mention with rising industry and economic opportunities, the appeal of madrassah and taliban will erode away in the mind of common Pashtun and Talibans will begin to suffer from drop outs while finding not enough replacements.

.
Not sure what you find so honorable and dignified about taking hand outs now and in the future?

And I am all against taking loans and bailouts so wonder why has my honorable mentions taken place up there?

When you are receiving economic prosperity on another country's terms, it is the same as a handout.

Are you that desperate to troll for the sake of trolling?
Seriously how old are you?? 14, 15 or 16??

At-least we contribute to the country by not only remitting valuable sums of money but also investing into economic activities and creating employment. Meantime making frequent trips to the country to keep an update with the situation. We would definitely have no need to work abroad if country provided enough opportunities.

Height of immaturity!

I was talking about foreign policy, not you personally.

You need to take a cold shower and stop getting emotional.

The only possible option for Taliban as i see post-2014 can be to become a part of democratically elected govt., with having a considerable say in Afghani affairs, but 100% control over Afghanistan is a near impossibility for Taliban.

100% control is not possible for anyone thats why you see the current situation.

Taliban would have been in half of the govt or to say 50% if they were allowed democratically in last elections.

Anyway US is already working for freeing Taliban commanders for negotiations and its coming to square one.

Honor and dignity are foreign concepts to you.

You do have some twisted sense of honor and dignity, I must say. I frankly fail understand how your dysfunctional politics and foreign policy have their origins in your "honor" and "dignity".

If you want to be taken seriously, respected as a country then you need to make the right moves.

Diplomacy and politics are about compromise. That shows that the country and its leaders are reasonable people. A lack of tact does not really imply pride. It just shows bone headedness and a lack of vision.

Once USA leave I doubt the afghan government will control anything beyond the perimeters of the parliament building. One assumes talibans will not actually topple the government so as to force a response from the west. Talibans were and will again be the defacto rulers of Afghanistan. I doubt very much the Taliban will appreciate any foreign interference in their affair whether pakistani or Indias hindutva hedgemonistic agendas.

Once US leave only thing India need to prepare for is to tuck tail between its leg and follow suit...

Square one??? really?? Do you think US who invested billions of dollars in Afghan war effort & lost nearly 5000 of it's men & is holding ground there for nearly 12 years did all this just to return to square one?? square one is a term used when we return to the original place from where we started, but that's not the case with Afghanistan, Taliban before 9/11 was holding nearly 2/3rd of Afghanistan including it's capital Kabul & important cities like the kandhahar, but thats not the case now, the Afghan national forces are much stronger now with few lakhs of men & sophisticated materials provided by the coalition forces, there is no way Taliban can reclaim Kabul, they themselves are suffering major casualties & as somebozo earlier said they are losing there men who were driven by there ideology as more & more Afghan people are getting education & better job opportunities. I am not saying that American forces have won the war completely & have succeeded in eliminating Taliban, but they have atleast succeeded in making an environment where Afghanistan can dream of a better future than what they had in the post 1996 to pre-9/11 period.

What US is trying to do is to form a more representative govt. at the center with inclusion of every major force of Afghanistan, that includes Taliban also.

.
Green on blue attacks suggests that Afgan defense machinery is seriously compromised... It will be as in Iraq.... US will exploit natural resources if any but post 2014 it will hand over to the strongest puppet it can control to run day to day affair... I would not be surprised if talibans somehow make a comeback. Prior to 9/11 the Talibs and US were having multifaceted discussions.

India has no part to play here other than to cause mischief vis-a-vis Pakistan.
