India and Singapore on Sunday reaffirmed their excellent bilateral ties, which span trade and investment, defence, education and culture, when their two prime ministers met on Sunday at the Istana.
Mr Lee Hsien Loong and Dr Manmohan Singh agreed to explore new areas of collaboration, and also expressed confidence that their two countries' economic partnership would further strengthen.
Dr Singh, who was on an official visit to Singapore, also called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and met former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
Singapore and India's economic links have grown considerably since they signed a landmark Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (Ceca) in 2005. It was the first such free trade pact for India.
