Great news! Pakistan performs better when put under pressure. Events like this might shake the Pakistani deep state out of its slumber.

The Indians don't have the capacity nor the capability to engage China in a military conflict of any kind. Sure, soldiers shouting at each other at the border is a normal thing now. But a military conflict where weapons are actually fired? No way! Even the USA wouldn't want to be in the range when China starts unloading its guns.

China single handedly defeated the USA + allies in the Korean war. This is a fact conveniently overlooked by many, many people. But those in power remember that and know the reality. That was when China was dirt poor, absolutely weak, broke, starving and dealing with multiple problems all over.

China of today will end India within a few hours, if not minutes, and India wouldn't be able to do even a hair's worth of damage to China. The biggest problem for India is that Russia is no longer their Godfather like ally who will take care of them and support them no matter what. The Russians would side with China in any given conflict on any given day.

This purchase is driven from fear of Pakistan.

Pakistan is much ahead of India in Missile, UCAV and Nuke race. NASR, Ababeel, Babur, Raad, Burraq and soon joining HD-1 means that India needs extensive air defenses to counter these threats. Surely no air defense is completely fool proof. India would be happy if it could counter 50-70% of the threats with these multi layer defense.

Pakistan has decent offensive capabilities and in order to tackle it we need some multiple layers defensive capabilities....... it’s a defensive weapon not an offensive one , so no worries for Pakistan
