Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak here, former Army Chief Gen (Retd) V P Malik said, "Till now we have been focusing on defensive operation. We now have to look at offensive operation."

India should plan offensive and covert operations to take target militant leaders and hit the Pakistani Army hard, two former Army chiefs said today.

Former Army Chief Gen (Retd) Bikram Singh was of the view that Indian should exploit the fault lines in Balochistan and Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) so that the Pakistani Army is forced to concentrate internally and not externally.

“We need to create asymmetric capabilities which includes doing covert operations and targeting militant leaders,” he said, adding the adversary should “feel the pain” and be put in an “embarrassing spot”.

He was of the view that an all-out war between India and Pakistan or India and China was “unlikely”.
To have a better planning of security needs, military experts should be roped into the government and be made Minister of State for Defence, Malik suggested.

Sounds reasonable. Our army is feeling unloved coz yours doesn't want to play.its common schoolboy psychology really. Two boys in a sandpit.

India is a much much bigger country then us and much more fault lines and divides. We can do much more damage then they ever could. Arm chair generals do their home work right, you will feel more pain and all IT WILL TAKE FEW INCIDENTS in India and all FDI will disappear from India faster then they think. Even best will shown by US at times towards Pakistan due to terrorism incidents not much of FDI did took place. So peace and development is the only way forward and both countries know very well none of can win a war any more. So be sensible what you wish for.

They are right.

We should invest more in our Special Force like we are already doing so that it gives us a offensive capability without declaring a war.If war is not declared there will be no nuclear threat.

Pakistan unlike 48,65,71 and 99 cannot be the aggressor this time and we have a pretty good buffer considering what happened in the last 3 months to play with them.

Wow man, that's quiet a threat. What are you? ISI? In the first three lines you were talking about damages, more pain, few incidents and withdrawal of FDI and then suddenly you are talking about peace and development. Aaawww, such a peace-nik you are.

Here is the reason ........... give them what they wish, some position where they can keep up with the corruption. Wonder why they had to bring Pakistan into it ................. well they must have studied chai walaz case and tactics, how to fool the delusional lot.

According to a source, Pakistan tried to avenge PAF Badaber in Pathankot & India avenged Uri in Quetta Academy.
India will now probably give an answer to Nagrota in a month or so.
